Same thing happened to me on the weekend trying to get a particular ending- 4 times.

My girlfriend and I played on seperate 360's and the only different choice we made was she let Menendez live while I killed him. Her ending plays through mine freezes after seeing Woods with his old friend and the reunion. I start the mission again rewinding the story, it freezes again. This is at 1:30am so I go to bed intending to retry in the morning.

I get up thinking it could be an issue with the 360 so I delete about 80 gig off the hard drive uninstall the game and then re-install it. Rewind the story play through and it freezes again almost at the exact same spot.

We decide to try it on my girlfriends, she rewinds the story, shoots Menendez and the game freezes at the same spot after the visit to Woods at the home.

This was the third campaign play through for both of us and we've had no problems on previous play throughs. Both on 2 different Xboxs from two differnt discs except mine was loaded on the hard drive.

Which I have no problems with, Black Ops is getting on now for a CoD game and all eyes are looking forward to November's release. But if I could say one thing to developers about advancements to the series it would be this- I don't want games that have a plethora of "new" features so much as I want games whose features work as promised. That'd make a great game the stuff of legend, to me anyway.

Perfect Dark on N64 with it's multitude of multiplayer options, bot customisation, quirky AI's, campaign that expanded depending on difficulty; The original Medal of Honour on PS1 with seemingly random AI actions such as skipping if shot in the foot and a German soldier that on rare occasions throw himself on a grenade in an attempt to save his comrades, and crazy multiplayer unlocks like Panzerknacker- these are the games I regale tales of even now and feel that are in some ways more advanced than the current gen of games with millions of dollars more backing them and huge leaps in technology and programing. These are games that are beyond great for me because of the little details that they got so right.

If developers took a little time to look back, they might see some new(/old) steps for the way forward. Especially a developer as talented and fan aware as Treyarch.

/End old timer rant 'bout "The good ol' days".

Wager Match- issue playing with friends.

So I had this great idea to play some ante up wager matches with friends only. I called it- Wager Wednesday -and tee'd up myself and five other friends to play. We all jumped on at the time we organised and I hosted the match inviting my friends.

At first we had issues getting a game because one of us had a moderate nat, he left corrected it and re-joined us. Finally after that we managed to play a game of One in the chamber together. One of us left after losing all his lives to fix a problem with his mic. When we went to start the next game he was unable to rejoin us as he was told he did not have enough CoD points to participate despite having over a hundred and fifty thousand points available.

Despite this we played a couple of TDM games to acquire him some more points. When we restarted not only was he still told that he didn't have enough points to play- another two members of our group were now told that they couldn't afford to play! At that point we'd spent over an hour correcting nats, ending parties to see if that would help, fixing mic issues, getting others to host the lobby, and trying to earn CoD points, only to have played one game of One in the chamber.

So we called Wager Wednesday a fail and went off and played some six player private matches and had a great time. But I don't understand why we had so many issues? We played ante up so parties would be allowed (even though we disbanded the party just incase that was part of our grief), we all have tens of thousands of CoD points available, we all had open nats eventually, we had a full lobby, why was this not working and why were some of us told we didn't have enough points to play?

I'm not going to come up with some BS about how I hate the game now, because that just ain't true. I love Black Ops and can't wait for the sequel, but I'd like to know if there's something I can do to get Wager Wednesdays off the ground for me and my mates to have a blast with Black Ops every once and awhile.

Thanks for any response in advance.

With attachments, ammo types, magazine types, camos, fire rates, and whatever else they can get in there coming into play.

I still find it hard to believe that that Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 -a four year old game -is still the most advanced shooter I've played as far as customization goes. Select fire rates for each weapon, take suppressors off and on anywhere anytime, design your own player body and face (male and female) and their clothing/kit, all useable across any game type, it was great!

That's where I want games to start looking as far as customization goes- backwards -and then figuring out how to take it forward.

The thing you have to understand though is that CoD is not a totally realistic game. It has that dash of unrealism that makes the game fun. If you want to find realism( not trying to sound like a jerk) you won't be able to find it in CoD.

Don't worry rapveterannn, you don't sound like a jerk. There's never goingto be a full measure of realisim in any game, if there was we'd be using two hands to fire the balistic knife and then having to search for a 10 ton shop press to insert a fresh blade as an example, which would be all kinds of crap. Just stating my feelings on the issue. I realise that with the gaming community it's a- some of the people some of the time -thing. Been around long enough to know most things are.

I'm not a quick scoping fan, yes because it's unrealistic, and I don't like the knifers, or the precision pipers. All I want is a shooter where there is an element of realism in how the weapons behave/sound and is fun. I'm sorry there's a minority of you who are highly skilled and find this the only way to challenge yourselves and thus get enjoyment from the multiplayer experience, but I want to use the weapons as they're intended and when I see a guy in kill cam sprinting around and shooting people five feet away with a sniper rifle designed for 800m headshots it urks me. Don't worry the guys sprinting through a battlefield knifing people urk me too. Between knifers, quickscopers, over priced map packs containing maps I've already bought, and boosters, I've had enough of MW2 and no longer find it enjoyable to play.

If the truly skilled quickscopers are even more kick arse with autos than that's fine with me (sure I say that now, when you pwn me twenty times in a row it might be a different story :P ), so long as there is an element of realism to how they're used.

I really hope a level of balance can be found to satisfy everybody in the community so we can all have a great time together November 9th.

OP had a link to details in the first post about it here-
And there is current tweets about it on JD's twitter page here-
The main reason I found WaW so hard was the 'nade fest. That and the aliies you fought with went from been capable in hardcore to cowards in veteran who spent most of their time competeing with you for cover.

TerrAdoxX wrote:

No Zombies speaks for its self.

No demo = They are hiding something

While no zombie mode has been announced it seems very likely that there will in fact be one. A simple google search of- black ops viral marketing (I made it bold so you can clearly copy and paste it. You do know how to use the right click on your mouse don't you little troll?) -will reveal a quite an awesome marketing campaign eludeing to the back story behind nazi zombies and the upcoming zombie sub-game.

No demo = They are hiding something

OMGZ no zombies!? I'm going to end it all right now!

They're not required nor obligated to do a BETA as there's never been a COD demo lol

That's not true. Treyarch released a multiplayer demo for World at War before the game's release. See here-
http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-AU/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80241560 81c/?of=1

Not to say that they'll do so again but there's still plenty of time for them too. They're quite calculated in their marketing and are doing a very good job of generating hype so a demo closer to release is still possible IMO.
