Win Loss Streak Fury?!!?!?!?!

Everyone likes (and hates) this game for different reasons. My win loss ratio is what I enjoy playing for. 6 of my clan have win streaks of 100+. Mine is 213. This was not done via ANY dashboarding or any method of cheating / boosting. It was simply always playing as a full team of 6, in Domination and providing good coms for one another. I went through an entire prestige without losing a single game!

So why, when I put so much effort into improving my W:L ratio, does this game have to **** all over it by continuously screwing me around?! Without my team being online, I just had 6 losses counted in less than 2 minutes - I joined a game that was lagging badly so quit as it was literally unplayable. I waited a bit, searched again and get chucked back in. I leave again and play a different playlist, joining yet another losing game which was also a little laggy but bearable. I persist and change lobbies and game mode again. I get forced into another losing game, but it wasn't lagging so I tried to turn things around which I did, and we would of won if half my team didn't back out with less than 1 minute to go on HQ Pro. I stay in the lobby and then am faced with a clan whilst my team is of 2 split screeners without a mic and a random guy who leaves his mic on but only talks to people in the room with him and plays loud music. It's not my connection before anybody asks, but WHY does it HAVE to include me in a losing game that has meer minutes to go AND give me the freakin loss for it?! And if you back out of a game, you clearly don't want to play that match so why should it force you back in?

It takes time, effort and skill to win matches that usually take about 10 minutes to complete, but takes less than 2 minutes for 6 losses to be counted that wern't my fault!

The maps on this game heavily promote team play, not solo. And the stupid amount of hit markers I get when my RPG explodes next to an enemy, TWICE, and AFTER already getting hit markers from shooting them is ridiculous. They patched the RPG a while ago but still... a hand grenade should not outweigh a propelled rocket...

So - my W:L is now 3.38. The highest it's been is 3.50 but every time I make any leeway, I get screwed over like tonight. I give in. Stupid damn game.

The results page summarized my teams stats and that we achieved gold with 555 captures. I added up our individual caps and it actually equalled 435. Simple addition not working there...? The Gold, Silver, Bronze leaderboards simply don't work either.

The champions were obvious boosters with one guy getting 3,000 captures or something. No XP will be given until all boosters have been removed. In the Lone Wolf thing a few weeks ago, one of our guys finished 12th. After boosters removal, he was upped to 3rd place out of everyone. I presume they won't give XP until they've got rid of those clans who boosted.

It will ALWAYS be a problem for some no matter what they do. I do think it's a little over buffed, but not EXTREME. It's a little out of their hands when they can't control what connections people are using. The general theory is that to pull host you have to have exceptional broadband. If pulling host means you recieve MORE lag, then look into the settings on your router. There are way's to make it work and put bluntly, to slow your internet down. That, or simply download something in the background to use some bandwidth.

There are so many more people in the world with average connections compared to those with exceptional connections. I've got host before, as have my friends and the game ran fine, if not better for us. I think Black Op's 'Locale Only' filter option for finding lobbies was a god send for preventing being paired with players in other countries - this is more likely to be causing the lag, not peoples lightning fast or turtle slow connections. It doesn't matter what you have when the transmission has to travel half way around the world and back.

I've played the campaign, but imagine it would be frustrating for some who hasn't - maybe they like to complete multiplayer before campaign or simply haven't got around to starting it yet?

Personally, I loved the campaign in this Modern Warfare. It was a great ending. By the way, you'd be surprised at how many times you can be stabbed before being killed. Faling out of a building due to an explosion is pretty bad though - it does work. It was World War 3 by the way - there isn't much left for the developers to make a story out of. A world war is the highest level of realism in my opinion. I wouldn't mind a modern warfare that builds on the best of the mission from all the previous cods but it would still degrade the originals. Nothing lasts forever, take the ending how it's been made and enjoy it!

It generally just makes for a harder match for my team and I. I'm not meaning to self promote or think I'm amazing at cod because I'm quite average in this game. Teamwork wins every time though.

If I was playing solo however, I too would be questioning whether I continue to play the game as much. At the moment, there aren't enough damage glitchers in matches to stop me though. The token glitch didn't effect my game, but I do think it's a bit shabby. But bugs will be bugs and fixes will be fixes. It's just a case of waiting for them. As far as Elite goes, I'm losing my patience with clan challenges not working still...

This annoys those of us who could hold our own in previous cods when going for killstreaks. Now, more often than not, any noob can fight the more experienced player. I didn't really care much for this game for the first month, but then found a team to party up with and we kick ass. The game is enjoyable when you win of course, and the key to that is team work. In previous cods you could do just as well playing solo, but the line for that has shrunk. Communication is needed now as there are so many flanking routes around the maps. 6 members of the team I play with, including myself only play Domination and are all abover the 100 win streak mark. WITHOUT dashboarding before somebody will no doubt accuse.

I agree with your post and whilst there are some annoying things about this game, it was the same with all the others before people loved it. It might be a little worse for some with MW3, but surely that means it could eventually turn out to be even more amazing that the others? Everyone has personal preference, but this game has been hated on too much. If you're struggling to enjoy it, find a team. I'm not saying that's the cure - some will have a team already but still hate MW3. All I'm saying is thats what made this game enjoyable for me again.

If you stand in his corner bloking him in, you're effectively not helping out the rest of your team either. If you attract enemy fire and both get killed, that enemy will probably kill other members of your team after that as well. The best thing to do is completely ignore the camper or use it to your advantage - you know you're likely to spawn there for example and could therefore set up a perimeter so you can protect him and one of your likely spawns preventing spawn traps from the enemy a little more. Work around it.

If this camper is too far away from the action, throw smoke and what not but back off and wait to see if the enemy approachs from a distance. Let the enemy kill the camper and then kill the enemy and re-secure that position before moving on to reduce risk of flanking. Or use a tac insert.

The cod community has always been like this but it's gone downhill. There is no team / gamer spirit anymore, people don't care. I imagine 90% of accusations of cheating are just when someone has been beaten and they can't take it. I'm not overly impressed by this game, primarily due to the map designs. But if you play with a team it improves it DRAMATICALLY. I played solo and lost many games. Then grouped up with a new team and we basically don't lose at all. In one of the youtube videos posted above, the chap is using specialist strike package and had Assasin Pro on but still couldn't call in his MOAB whilst the enemy EMP was active, but that was before the MOAB countdown.

I'm guessing it doesn't matter what perks you have or don't have enabled, the developers saw the potential annoyance of an active MOAB countdown being stopped by an EMP.

I don't have the time to reply to all of this and it's now got a little out of hand...

Okay, the following is my revised neutral view on the original post and also of your (starbuckfrack) comment's to try and resolve whatever this now is;

You say about a business giving you nothing unless you pay for it and that they don't care. Well, we all pay for our Live subscription each year and one of the main selling points to entice new customers and revenue for it was COD maps would be released on Xbox first. They still are, but now you have to purchase Elite if you want them earlier than the rest of the gaming platforms or non premium members. I don't necessarily agree with it but it didn't stop be buying Elite Premium as I'd of been spending the money later on anyway. I understand others frustration and explain this below, but do actually agree with you that it's a mundane thing to be complaining about. But some people do, and it's not worth my time and effort, nor is it my place to try and change someones way of thinking if all he/she was doing is venting frustration > ie. the original poster. He'll come around to buying it eventually if he want's the DLC early as that's simply how it's got to be from now on, that's the direction this company has taken to propel itself further.

I didn't do it for the bells and whistles of Elite as it's really not overly feature rich. But it's okay and I do like the idea of the things that don't work yet such as clan challenges (...no ETA on fixes is annoying), but without the map packs included it wouldn't be worth money and wouldn't sell like it has. I purchased it for the map packs and that's all as I know I'll play them regardless of how good, average or poor they are as it's what my friends will be playing - I like indulging myself in the social side of gaming more than the game itself.

I can imagine someone who paid for an Xbox, a Live subscription and the actual game because that's what all his/her friends play. That person may not know if they'll enjoy COD though but could still feel obligated to spend another £34.99 on Elite just to play the new maps with friends as opposed to the past where you paid £9.99 and if you didn't like it, you didn't have to continue or buy future DLC. In buying Premium now, people are tied in which is what I think is causing these complaints.

As for your posts, I'm sorry but "Wake up and smell the coffee."and all the capitalised words and harsh tone weren't needed to effectively push your point. It didn't sound like constructive critisicm or anything - you sounded just like you were describing the original poster to be and moaning about something that you both had differing opinions of and obviously both feel strongly about - the OP for having a webpage on it and you implying he is stupid and other poorly chosen words and phrases. Capitalisation of almost 20 word's doesn't enhance your post or your point either, it does the opposite - I read it and imagined you to be shouting and p*ssed off - is this how you wanted to come across?

starbuckfrack wrote:

BTW you think I am blind you are totally wrong. I see more in people than you know. Just because our opinions dont agree doesnt mean I am ignoring what a person says. I mean I can assume that YOU are blind because you have no understanding of a single sentence I posted and most likely ignored the first sentence.

Again with the insults saying I have no understanding of a single sentence. Also, I didn't ignore the first sentence, I even addressed it directly. I also fully see you wern't ignoring what a person has said as you so bluntly put them down for it. If you'd just stated the actual facts minus the sense of hatred, I would of been more open to accepting your point of view considering I somewhat agree with it. All you did was fight fire with fire. As far as 'seeing more in people', I of course don't know your life experience, but nor you mine.

starbuckfrack wrote:

They also assume that just because someone doesnt say "I am sorry for your issue, I understand you pain" makes the person repsonding either stupid or insensitive.

I don't think you're stupid and you obviously have experience in life (you mentioned being married for 20 years, you must be over 30-40) ... you speak of intelligence but showed none of it yourself in the way you originally spoke in your post.

blueliquidised wrote:

people on this forum seem to take immense joy in insulting others and are too blind to see another's point of view or too arrogent to address it. Or perhaps they just can't comprehend a world outside of their own little one where everything is relative and not centred about their own

This was more a general observation. In retrospective, it was off topic and not fully representative of how I feel, though I do often think similar thing's of people's actions be it here or in life itself. Sorry if I sounded like I was directing it straight at you. I've nothing against you personally starbuck, but how you originally approached this topic was in my personal opinion a little too dramatically handled. This is MY opinion. I welcome your reply as long as it's not insulting or 'in my face', even if you do disagree with absolutely everything I've said and I'm sorry if you find I've handled it poorly as well.

I completely agree with everything SID3P0 just said. I've said this before - people on this forum seem to take immense joy in insulting others and are too blind to see another's point of view or too arrogent to address it. Or perhaps they just can't comprehend a world outside of their own little one where everything is relative and not centred about their own insignificant life's - not to be demeaning of life, but that's what each life is on the grander scale. I hate to sound like what I'm describing, but come the hell on. I hate using these forums now, as much as I hate playing the game solo. People are rude, obnoxious and unsupporting of fellow gamers which comes across a lot in how they play online and of course the insane trash talk. For that reason, I only ever play with my team of friends.

Starbuckfrack - they ARE pushing it down our throats. You practically said it yourself among your 19 capitalised words without realising it - yes we have indeed known for a long time about it, and that's due to the sheer amount of marketing time they dedicated to it. Ultimately, if friends have the new maps and you don't you'd feel left out and compelled to purchase a premium membership which shouldn't be the case - it's just a cheap money making ploy for an already well off company / franchise - all the money made from past COD installments and we've been sold in to a 'broken item'. In reality, Elite is no more than a statistics database at the moment - something which Black Op's gave in-game. Before I go off track about that, back to the point....

Non Elite Premium subscribers on Xbox have to wait too long to be able to purchase maps. Paying for a Gold subscription as well as the game should warrant an earlier release of DLC than players of the PS3 at the very least. They once advertised heavily that map packs would be availble for Call of Duty's on Xbox first - even in cinema's. Well, does that just not stand anymore (or why has it been divided)? I'm sure that was a selling point that tipped people in favour of investing in an Xbox and it's Live subscription instead of a PS3. It's almost like Elite has been such a failure that this is the only thing that will prevent many people from complaining they were 'sold a broken product' and what not. The common counter point is that people have to have some incentive to purchase an Elite subscription - well that's because there is almost nothing else it has to offer.

I should mention, I have Elite Premium so am not 'choosing sides' with the OP. But I can see his point of view quite clearly.
