I would classify the 800+ page count as a symptom of the larger problem.

That problem being IW's priorites re technical issues vs finishing DLC.

Great news from Casa Esquela!

(But not as great as yours, amigo... )

Whatever was broken since the last patch that allowed me 1 or 2 good matches for every 10 or so stat-paddings (for the other fellow) seems to have been fixed. Much to my relief as I actually found myself looking forward to playing tonight. It was an alien and rather dirty feeling, so I'm glad it has passed.

Sorry I wasn't referring to the Sitrep glitch. By "one of those matches", I mean the 9 out of 10 matches where the hidden "perks" Concrete Galoshes, FistfulOfHitmarkers and PathtoBraggingRights(for that other guy) are active for me.

When I quit matches its within the first 2 minutes. I can tell right away when it's going to be one of those matches and I'm outta there.

I understand it's frustrating to actually get that rare match (at least they're rare for me) and then have the host kill it but it's quite unreasonable to expect people who are being disadvantaged to stick around and be bullet catchers just so another player's stats can be padded. The state of the game being what it is I have absolutely zero problem with people dashboarding--I fear I'm turning into something of an anarchist where COD is concerned. I view dashboarding as civil disobedience.

You guys want see a real crap storm, though? Let IW start punishing people for backing out of matches. Yeah. That would be fun to watch. Remember that memory-holed thread where Ghandi characterized throttling your conection (yes, the one that you pay for with your own money) as cheating whether explicitly or via family members being online? Whatever else I think of IW, I think they're crafty enough to realized how that would go down.

Although it would definitely be more entertaining than the game in it's current state.

The solution to this and I'm betting most all of the other problems people have been complaing about here for

is not punishing players who are fed up with being made into Loki-esque smash toys for under-acheiving toddlers. The solution is for Ghandi and co to stop picking winners and losers.

What difference would a video make? Ghandi dismisses those as easily as any other evidence presented to him.

I payed a little tonight just to see if anything's different and it's now right around 1 match in 10 that's playable for me. In the other 9 I'm providing that "path to bragging rights for everyone" that Ghandi referenced long ago.

If I didn't back out of the match.

However it does seem that when I give up a few charity deaths at the beginning of one of those grade-inflation matches to the opponents that Ghandi has chosen to favor with god mode and then back out, those matches seem to count toward the gimp-toll. So repeat 9 or so times and I usually get a match where, wonder of wonders, my bullets register, my movement speed is back to normal and opponents don't magically appear in places I looked at a split-second ago.

Anything to add? I recall statements that that the game should be accessible to all. It's an admirable goal and I still entertain the fantasy that the game will one day reach that state.

Seems like foxhound isn't on board with that.

Is foxhound correct that formal teams are the true focus and solo/informal (dare I say "casual") players should simply accept an inferior experience when playing objective modes? This sounds suspiciously close to catering to hardcore players which you have foresworn repeatedly.

I am old, easily confused and would appreciate clarification.

Should solo players shelve their complaints regarding team/objective modes?

What other areas of the game solo players should resign themselves to afterghought status in?

(This is a grin of sympathy FH. I too know what fresh foot tastes like).

Yes, yes ghandi, I know foxhound isn't an IW employee but he(?) is someone with official status here (or am I mistaken?) and his statements carry a non-trivial amount of weight. My questions stand.

Interesting: someone correct me if I'm wrong but it seems that curiously-worded post with (I'm paraphrasing here) "the game should be equitable for everyone" and "there should be a path to bragging rights for all" nonsense has been memory-holed.

Ghandi, here's the current state of the game for me: I get one good match per day-the very first one I play. It's not perfect-it still takes half a 6 or 8 or 10 shots (with any weapon even at point blank range to put a guy away but at least it doesn't feel like he's half a sec ahead of me. After the first match it goes downhill from there. It's been like this for the past 3 weeks or so. I don't think I'm hosting because I don't see the migration screen when I quit the subsequent matches (I undid all the connection shenanigans at my end weeks ago. I don't play in a party.

I have comcast internet and as others have said, I don't see these same problems when I play other games.

I just spent the last hour typing up an utterly devastating defense of the commentors here outlining how I think the thread got to this state. And that state verges on all-out Forum War!

In the interest of peace and fraternal goodwill I just deleted it and instead....

Why don't we just set this nonsense behind us? I move that there very soon be a final post on this thread consisting of link to new one and that we shake hands like gentlemen/hug it out, etc and leave what was said here, here.

But,

IW (not necessarily Ghandi but hopefully including you) is going to have commit itself. It is unarguable that IW has some very dissatisfied customers visting this thread (how many is a good question, I are one). The fact that they are still here complaining is a positive, not a negative!. IW should be glad to have such hard-headed, grouch-a**, uh... eager(!) fans! (Your mere troll is a lazy git, he'd never stick around this long.)

Be that as it may, there is, as they say, something of a trend to the complaints. It's time for IW to level with us. Does IW consider the lag and lag compensation problems resolved? The answer could be yes--IW could decide that it's just not worth their time to pursue solutions any further. I'll be disappointed but if this is the case, it needs to be stated in no uncertain terms so that at least some of the people still here can finally move on. If the answer is no then there needs to be real, sustained dialogue between the developers and customers if IW still wants to resolve the problems.

I'm almost completely gimped lately. In addition to all the other symptoms mentioned so many times before now sometimes my weapon just stops firing for a split second (and no, i'm not out of ammo, it starts firing again).

The game ran absolutely beautifully last night just after the server issue was resolved.

It's just too bad that IW has struggled financially in recent years. If only they had the wherewithal to update the technology powering their games...

Quite sad, really....

First match in a session is great lately. Then it gradually reverts to mid-december (or should we call it the baseline?) status of the usual hit markers if you're lucky and on to instant kills from around the corner.
