Increasing the speed/stability of my PS3s connection?

So we've got horrible internet. No doubt. Though I've been able to play Black Ops/MW2/CoD4 on it just fine earlier when the PS3 were stationed closer to the router.

According to SpeedTest, we have 1.84Mbps download and 0.29Mbps upload. Whiel do.wnloading stuff, I usually get around 200-250Kbps
I know, it's horrible though that's not really the problem. The problem is that the router is on the other side of the house, one floor up, and the connection is very unstable. Unstable connection + weak router + low speed = lag while playing.

So, what can I do to make the connection more stable? Can I increase the upload/download speed?

I've been wondering if ethernet cables would do the trick. Though is it worth it? Cause' it's going to be a lot of work laying the cables across the house.

Thanks!

And I quickscope... a lot.

I do it cause' 90% of the time I get sprayed down while steadying the scope.

Learn to dragscope. It's another way to quickscope. Horribly accurate in Black Ops. Of course, classic sniping is the best way to do it across Array and such.

My words of wisdom: Learn both techniques. They both help you, though only if you use them accordingly to the situation.

Sure, snipers are intended for medium-range combat, but they should be usable as a last-resort in extreme close-range, and visa versa with SMGs and such.

So wouldn't it be great if you were able to temporarily disable the BO map-packs in-game? I find everybody who play on map-packs to be super-tryhards in parties. I usually find it annoying. I play on the PS3, so I have to exit the game in order to disable the system and the map-packs. That kinda sucks...
Treyarch fails at modifying engines...

It's hard to believe that the engine used in Black Ops is based off the Call of Duty 4 engine, which in my opinion, were very stable and performed very well, even though host migration wasn't present(though it doesn't matter since host migration fails 8/10 times).

Anyways, how is it possible to mess up a game engine so badly? Sure, the World at War engine wasn't that great, but it seems more stable than the modified version used in Black Ops. Why?

It's not hard to see how the technology has been changing in both Infinity Ward and Treyarch's game...
Infinity Ward manages to make an incredibly stable game engine(IW Engine 4.0 a.k.a the MW2 engine) with decent graphics and OK netcoding, while Treyarch goes in the oposite direction, almost going back in time with bad hit-detection and horrible netcoding and worse graphics.

I'd be happy to know how they failed.

PROCESSOR Intel® Core™ i7 960 Quad Core Processor (3.2GHz, 8MB Cache)
HARD DRIVE 1TB - SATA 3Gb/s, 7200RPM, 32MB Cache HDD

At first glance, I'd go for the one at the bottom, simply cause' the processor sports a higher clock-speed.

Though the other is quad-core, so I really don't know...

Anyways, both would deliver and satisfy your needs.

*L96A1 - The Difference Between the PS3 and XBOX360 version*

Is it just me or is the in-scope crosshairs on the L96A1 much slimmer on the XBOX360 version than on the PS3 version?

To me it seems like that's true, and it really makes a big impact on accuracy at medium range(cause' I don't believe long-range exists in Black Ops, but that's not the case).
Slimmer crosshairs means clearer vision of the target at range.

Anyways, I've got both versions of Black Ops, and I'm much more accurate with the sniper, specifically the L96A1 on XBOX360 than I am on PS3, even though my skills lies in the PS3 controller which I personally feel many times more comfortable with.
It really makes a big impact, and since I to be honest hate the XBOX360 controller design, I think I'm right.

Anyways, why is it like that. Is it supposed to be that way? Why?

Well, I don't know...

Any thoughts?

Re: Quickscope

To begin, here is the setup I normally use:

Primary weapon: L96A1
-Attachment: Extended mags, Variable scope(whatever you prefer)

Side arm:Python
-Attachent: Dual wield

Perk 1: Ghost
Perk 2: Steady Aim
Perk 3: Optional

Prefered sensitivity: 7+

The reason why I'm setting a sensitivity is because you shouldn't go for clean quickscopes. Always be prepared to pull a dragshot, since you'll 99,99% of the time miss the center of the screen.
At sensitivity levels lower than 7, you'll simply not be able to drag quickly and effectively enough. Trust me, I've been testing this for a long time now. Usually, I'd say that sensitivity is a matter of preference, though this is the exception.

If you do it right, you should be a much better sniper.

To be honest, I'd recommend dragscoping instead of quickscoping at all times, simply because it's x10 more accurate and reliable.

But do not try a drag/quickscope where you can easily just scope n' snipe for the kill.

"Go for wins, not for spins."

Always remember that!
