Throttling never helps the lag comp fixes that they have sent or may send in the future. I have heard that they monitor it from time to time so that they can send the proper fixes, and when people throttle their connection, they get false results, thus ending in improper fixes.

Now I am no internet or gaming genius and I understand we all want the game to play smooth and with no issues, but, with gaming being based on internet connections these days, they will never be perfect. I do think it is kinda sad though that we have to have basically dial up instead of high speed for the game to operate correctly when it should be the other way around.

Are there any other FIOS people out there? I recently switched to their lower internet service going from 25down/15up to 15down/5up. But for some reason I get host more often now. Does anyone have any idea why?

If I'm not host the gameplay has gotten a bit better. Instead of a full second behind I'm about half a second now. It still sucks but at this point I'll take what I can get. I'm even tempted to start throttling. But I'm just wondering why I've been pulling host more.
