Rapid Fire on Assault Rifles

What does everyone think of Assault Rifles having the rapid fire attachment in MW3? I was really surprised honestly... personally I think rapid fire should be limited to SMGs because of their high recoil and big damage drop off. Rapid Fire on an ACR... idk that doesn't seem right.
If you remember from COD4, Double Tap and Stopping Power cancelled each other out so that each perk increased the "Time To Kill" of a gun the same exact amount. In Black Ops, the Rapid Fire attachment was pretty much Stopping Power in the form of an attachment. There is a reason it was the most expensive attachment - it was the most powerful. Now in MW3, Stopping Power is already built in to all the guns. Then add rapid fire. Basically it's COD4 using both Stopping Power AND Double tap and the same time - Stopping Power times 2.
Everyone playing the game early seems to agree that the Type 95 is MW3's "I Win" gun for when you feeling like playing cheap (in the limited time I've played I only shot the Type 95 a few times - it was basically MW2's FAMAS). Now imagine MW2's FAMAS with stopping power + double tap. The 3 round burst is so fast it is basically firing 1 giant bullet like a sniper rifle, and it only takes 2 of the 3 bullets to kill. The burst shoots so fast that if 1 bullet hits you, all 3 will.
So basically the Type 95 Rapid Fire is a 1-hit kill semi-auto assault rifle, to any part of the body.
When was having rapid fire on assault rifles confirmed? I didn't even think that was possible
Well i know that the type 95 has it. I saw it in a livestream from a guy who got it early.
I thought that Rapid Fire is only for the M16.
Yeah I've never heard of this either. Not to mention the Type 95 is a burst of 3 wep like the Famas and M16 were in MW2.
As far as I'm aware, rapid fire is available exclusively to SMG's.
Yeah you are wrong. SMG and LMG both have it. As far as burstweapons I have no idea.
Every Assault Rifle has a Rapid Fire attachment option. Just look up some leaked gameplays.
They might as well return Double Tap if that's the case.
People thought the M16 with only Stopping Power was OP in COD4. Now It's going to be 3 round burts rifles with Stopping Power AND Double Tap. Like I said they are basically the same as 1-hit kill semi-auto assault rifles, to any part of the body.
Double Tap is a more balanced form of SP anyways. Higher recoil and a higher ammo consumption, plus the frequent need to reload. If you miss your shots or suffer from lag, it will affect you negatively.
oh goodness, Faster rate of fire on a 3 round birst doesnt make that damage go up!!!!
If 3 bullets were fired with the type-95, it would maybe kill on the first trigger pull.
If 3 bullets were fired with the rapid fire attachment, it would maybe kill on the first trigger pull. how fast the bullets shoot after another doesn't affect the damage if the gun is a 3 ROUND BURST! Anyways, those vests that can be given out to the whole team can fix the "one bullet issue"
The logic..... oh goodness...... And i noticed that it was you, iamhollywood. Big surprise
Romanticide - I simply saw your name and didn't even read your comment. Your such an IW nut swinger it's ridiculous. Everyone knows you defend every decision they make and you can't tolerate somebody else possibly having an opinion that opposes yours in your sovereign forum domain.
Opinions are like.... well i dont even need to finish, you know how that goes. You know well by now that most of my opinions are going to differ from yours, and even if you think your elite all powerful wisdom is infallable, when you see I am the author of a particular post you should simply ignore it because you are wasting your time. Go talk with the other IW nutswingers.
You got it all wrong, rapid fire on burst fire weapons means that there's less recovery time in between each burst. So for instance..
m16 without rapid fire
Burst, wait 0.7 seconds, burst, wait 0.7 seconds, etc.
m16 WITH rapid fire
Burst, wait 0.3 seconds, burst, wait 0.3 seconds, etc.
this guy is right, doesnt rly give the gun more stopping power, but its does increase the range of availability the weapon has in different situations... such as close range hip fire against a SMG.
