region lock fix now or REFUND!!!

ive had it with your shitty matchmaking process and your stupid rules infinity ward or activision or whoever the **** had the brilliant idea to do this to your international community. this is a big ******* slap in the face and what is worse, I paid for this and several other call of duty games and this is what we get back. I cant understand why American players have priviledge's over the entire worldwide gaming community and paid even less than what we did for those games. sometimes games like these cost up to $90 in my country and its not fair for us to get treated like this. please reconsider your business strategy ASAP cause its working for me and lots of people in Honduras

    I feel your pain.  But I don't think that Activision is going to do anything about it, considering how much this game sold and how little incentive there is to do the work necessary to correct this problem.

    I'm really hoping that this doesn't effect me in Kuwait (I haven't recieved my game yet, next two days or so hopefully).  As I AM an American, and I AM a service member.  So if what I've been hearing is true, then it is a slap in the face to those who they wrote the game about (although I am no where NEAR as cool as the guys in the game :-p)

      yeah youll be affected by it but what you can do is join  a freinds party an have him look for the match. its the only way to play in the american servers but you could suffer from lag so just try to learn how to play with lag

        Try to learn to play with lag? Are you Activision staff?

        That's like "try and play with corrupted textures" or "try to play with your feet"... who buys a game to then "learn to play it with lag"?

         

        I mean... I bought the game to have fun, not to be aggravated by the fact that I can only join regional games - after a 20 min search - which then translates in playing only Deathmatches with 5 or 6 other guys (out of 9 different users I came across).

         

        If I knew this was supposed to happen I would never have bought the game (and I used to be a fan of the series).

         

        Any chance this is fixed? Does Activision even consider this something that needs fixing rather than a "feature"? Or will it be sold with the Elite Scam, like "join the Elite and play a GLOBAL arena" or a similar ridiculous pitch?

    I think they will, they are looking into it, I know that much

     

    A lot of people have complained about this, its a fairly big worldwide issue from what i've read

    If you are talking region lock on the map packs, blame your country. MS has to follow laws there to for their service.

    As weel as Microsoft is in charge of the game maketplace, not Activision.

     

    Otherwise what region locks are you talking about ?

      No hes talking about the problem where you cant match make with anyone except for people in your own country, which is fine for the USA, but problamatic for countries that dont have many xbox members. It supposed to find players in other countries after your local but it doesnt.

       

      I have hjad same problem on my xbox and so has everyone else that know in Gibraltar, funny thing is that on the ps3 its fine no problems at all.

       

      Hoping they will update soon if not wil start playing ps3 version

        Thats it.

        I understand that distance can affect ping, but then just give us the option to search for games under a certain threshold.

        I am on 50 Mbits cable, if you have the same in the USA, we would play in better conditions that you would with your next door neighbour if he was using dial-up.

        Additionally, I live in Macau, a Special Administrative Region of China much like Hong Kong, except that we have a 560.000 population and PS3 rules - meaning that I get to play with 6 or 7 persons out of 9 or 10!

        For reference 560.000 is about the same as Fresno or Albuquerque or Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania... imagine buying a game that purports to be online multiplayer then to find out you are restricted to play with people living in Fresno!

      blame the country?? id like to see you in this situation dude, im pretty sure you would be really pissed off as many people like me are at the moment.

    Comeon IW wheres your head at? You guys made some sick games that worked great. Infact you made the first CoD! Whats happend?! Im dying to be able to chose the game mode I want to play rather than joining a session that a friend is already in.

    I feel ya - as an American, I hate getting connect to Puerto Ricans and games where everyone else is speaking some form of latin dialect.

     

    The matchmaking is terrible so far.

      There really is no excuse why there isnt a match search option in mw3, like there was in BO.  I personaly want it set to region only.  There is no reason why i should be put in a non US lobby.  Not when there is always plenty of ppl online any time of the day in the US.  Late last night i couldnt find a US lobby to save my live.  No or bad english and 1 or 2 bar connection.  There really is no excuse for this crap. Please fix ASAP.

    They have not replied a single post about the region lock, they are not going to fix it, why would they bother when onlt countries with low sell rates are affected? and their top sell countries get a much better game experience because those of us that are outside those countries wont be around to lag them.

    I bought this game to play online.

     

    I cannot play games online.

     

    Since I did not get what advertised, I would like a refund.

     

    Alternatively, you could actually do something to fix the problem and not aggravate a considerable number of gamers around the world.

     

    Logical, yes?

    I've ONLY bought IW CoD games, and this is how they treat me. They say that they're "considering how to address this problem" and that "updates are on the way" but I just don't know...

    Stop your crying. You had the chance to join the site for free and try it. Unfortunately you didn't remember there are two responsibilities to every purchase. Remember consumer responsibility!!! Research a product or service before you buy it. Maybe this will be a good lesson to you!!

    I live in Scotland and after patch 1.08 i'm constantly playing in French lobbys and it lags like f*ck .The matchmaking in this game is absolute sh!t
