Support Strike Package

Does anyone else think the package is a little over powered? just curious =|

Yes it's overpowered, just like every single thing that kills me in this game.

    Re: Support Strike Package

I think the support package is "OP" when a player with half a brain gets a hold of it. Luckily most CoD players only posses a fourth of a brain and it's too overworked from complaining about "that camping noob" so no, support package isn't really "OP".

    Re: Support Strike Package

I think the support streak points should be adjusted for different gametypes. Playing domination and having the other team get 6 escort drops while being down 80+ points is ****ing ridiculous.

    Re: Support Strike Package

Necessarily no, but in a way, yes -  sounds like a contradiction - but I was seriously in a game where the enemy called in 3 Escort Airdrops while down by over a 100+ points and were "rewarded" with EMPs, Juggernauts, and Advance UAVs. But stated above by sml, it's annoying.

    Re: Support Strike Package

I wish there was a way to make these threads go away. This is ridiculous and pointless. How is the support strike package overpowered? The only thing there that is annoying is juggernaut. Everything else can be countered or dealt with. If you are emp'd then switch to a class where you have assassin pro and the emp goes away on you. Same goes for counter uav. And for juggernaut, just don't go near it and your safe. And hope your team aren't idiots trying to kill him either.

    Re: Support Strike Package

Changing a class should not be that big of a deal, reason you have 5 of them to start out with. Gives you a change to have a set-up to counter everything. Also if you dont like EMP's that much, then go to BF3 or some **** its not hard to deal wit ha EMP, unless you need your red dot or HUD like a noob. I personally only get EMP'd like once a day and its towards the end of the game. So go find something else to complain about being OP. This is the most balanced MW3 yet IMO. Black ops everyone used the same loadout, atleast here its somewhat mixed up.

    Re: Support Strike Package

There's nothing wrong with the support strike. The way it is set up is actually pretty restrictive if you're a decent player. The rewards don't stack. So you can't bank 2 counter uva's and wait for the enemy to call in advanced uav forcing you to play it when not needed. You can't move clases freely as the game develops because you are working on that strike package. So chnging into an anti-air suppot class because all your team m8s are running about getting shot up by choppers and not dealing with them breaks the chain.

Like everything else, it's only good in good hands.

    Re: Support Strike Package

What's so over powered about it? Remote sentry, ha no. Stealth bomber, Nope. Escort airdrop, if you don't shoot it down you deserve to die.

I really don't understand all the whining about support. People should also stop blaming it for the reason there are so many UAV's. There were too many uavs in every other call of duty. You want that solved? take it out of assault package and make it a higher point streak on support. I think counter should come before UAV, Uav is much much more powerful

    Re: Support Strike Package

Sounds like you just need to rethink your playing style. Like I said, I am lucky to get EMP'd once a day because I play with my clan and we work as a team to prevent the other team getting to those higher end killstreaks. Stop bitching about Support, because you can't stop a noob that goes 14-30. I am sorry but these threads need to go. The game is more balanced than any CoD game to date IMO. If you dont like the gameplay, then find another one, plain and simple.

Watch this video and tell me that the guys on both sides deserved to get their support care packages.

Disregard the comments about lag: This was from the first few days when the lag was even worse than it is now.

I rather not watch a 10 min video that honestly will not change my opinion. I see both sides of the debate, kinda. Those that use support soley for the fact they dont want their rewards taken from a death, or the somewhat easy to get SB, if the other team are idiots and dont communicate as a team to let others know the support users and target them to keep their pointstreaks to a min. Those players should not be bashed, but rather steered in the right direction on the way a support player should conduct his self in the game to HELP the team, hence the title SUPPORT. But given that most players are still in grade school, the bashing will never stop, nor will teamwork be a big deal of CoD like it should.

I don't mind the support package - I just am irritated that it is so easy to obtain the top streaks.

Just as you rarely see AC-130's, Pavelows, etc. from the Assault package, you should rarely be able to run into players getting those top Support streaks. The fact that even a player going extremely negative in his Kill-Death spread and being down 80+ points in Domination can get an escort airdrop or an EMP is mind boggling.

    Re: Support Strike Package

If getting 14/18 kills is so so easy, anybody can do it and the support package is so over-powered, why the hell isn't everybody using it?  More importantly if you really think it is easy and over-powered, why aren't you using it?  It isn't as easy as you make out and two rewards that may be good doesn't make the package over-powered.  Remove the stealth bomber and EMP and people will stop using it and then the whole point of having the package disappears, and everybody starts camping more and more just to get a care package.

      Re: Support Strike Package

I have used it. My friends and I ran EMP's on domination for a few days during the first week and we had several games where the last 6+ minutes of the game, the opposing team was continuously EMPed.

I don't run support because it's just way way too easy. If I wanted a game that was that easy, I'd go play basketball against my 8 year old cousins instead.

ok, the support package maybe be easy, but you dont get anything direct from it as far as kills except the SB, which is why all the kids use it and make you hate it. Support is just that, support. Learn to deal with it and find ways to counter it. Sorry the game is not taylored to just you. Some of us like to play the game as a team and help everyone out to reach the common goal, to win. Why is it so hard for you kids to get that in your heads. Stop bashing the support package because the people you are playing agaist work as a team, on purpose or not. Sorry but ask any REAL MATURE ADULT, a team that works together has a lot higher chance of winning, then a team of kids not communicating. Esp when the communicating team has people designated to play support roles to keep UAVs and what not up for the assaulting squads. Sounds to me most of those people complaining about support are just tired of losing to others with a gameplan.

So your saying that the four carepackages dropped from an escort airdrop never contain anything that kills people?

And seriously - Are you calling me a kid? I know how to use the shift and enter keys. I am all that is man.

That's the chopper aspect of it. But what about the Juggernauts, the Pavelows and AC-130's that are dropped from it?

            Re: Support Strike Package

ive never gotten anything thats not in a support package except the I.M.S in a escort airdrop. So check your **** again before you make a dumbass post. Most of the packages you get in a escort are UAV's of some nature, or a RJ or stealth which lets face it most support people will take all but a min or 2 of the game to get to the escort, so chances are the game is already over by then, and why do you think the top pointstreak is 18 in support and 15 in assault. The ******* packages are balanced for the most part, get over it and find a way to counter it, get some more skill, or take the game back and pick up tiger woods pga 12, something more your syle. Altho im sure you would still find something to ***** about in that as well ,as if a club is op or some dumbshit

    Re: Support Strike Package

Occasionally you get good shi-t from the support package but usually it’s not all that good plus people shoot it down here and there too. Remote sentry is garbage imo. At least for me. Got it around 100 times by now I reckon, jugg maybe 10 times from it. Many people steal crap too, especially once you die just before it drops which takes for ever. Don’t see it a lot and I mainly play dom.

Stealth bomber is beast though. Clearly too good as a 14 support streak, but more the reason to use it yourself. Use the color blind assist as it tells where the stealth bomber is about to go through.

Support streaks promote an active game style, if it has a few good things here and there, good. The more people use it the more gun on gun fights you will see. As a mainly solo player, I don’t get a lot of uavs up thanks to teammates, I''m forced to use support since you can add more all over the map and uavs help out teammates. Most people All run assault strikes without uav or high support streaks and thus only get an advanced uav maybe once a game up or run the specialist class and even then assassin balances out uav spam imo. Never found emp to be a problem, rarely see it used, bar when vsing clans and even then they rather use assault too or support jugg.

I have no problem with the escort airdrop at all it's the Steath Bomber that needs to go, I play mainly GW and the thing is devastating in that and YES getting a 14 non consecutive "point" streak is very very easy.

My issue with the top killstreaks is not that they exist in the game, but that they are so easy to get.

The top support streaks - the EMP's, support airdrops, etc should happen at a similar rate to those medium-high assault streaks such as the AC-130 and Pavelows. At this time, it's easy for an entire team to put up multiple of the top streaks.
