Has the LAG COMP been fixed yet?

Just a simple question: has the lag comp been fixed yet to where this game is actually playable?  I honeslty don't even want to pop in the disc until there is hope that it is actually fixed.  I have tried too many times only to be disappointed.

    It's still patchy but has improved for this gamer. Each gamers experience appears to differ widely depending on

     

    Their set up

    Local traffic conditions

    Their expectations

     

    It's all relative...so to speak.

    For the last few days, it has gotten much, much worse, for some reason. Not sure if the game is at fault or live or what, though. Throw in that the new, "improved" spawns usually consist of you ending up with your back to the guy who just shot you, or sitting all alone surrounded by the enemy team, and the last 3 days or so really sucked.

      The last 3 days or so on battlefield 3 have been smooth as butter. Yep I'm going here. In fact it's been pretty darn smooth since launch. Always played cod and battlefield games. Traded mw3 in before the end of november. No lag comp to deal with on the battefield servers. A lot of people need to see that there are other games out there to play. Not going to argue wich one is better because that is futile with a lot of people on here.

        FYI, Battlefield servers have lag comp.  As does every online game that exists.

         

        Battlefield lags as well, but nowhere near as much as CoD.  I'm actually impressed by the amount of players BF can get in the game at once with minimal lag (visible lag at least).

         

        In saying that though, BF and CoD are two completely different games.  Not everybody will like BF that plays CoD (and visa versa).  It's like comparing a basketball game to a football game.  BF is more like MAG on PS3.  The styles are similar.  I loved MAG as well though.

          Is true that there is lag comp on the servers BUT....I am and always will be a hardcore gamer. I have never once sold a cod 2 weeks after buying it! I've owed all cods all battlefield and every other type of game under the sun. FOR ME AS WELL AS A LOT OF PEOPLE MW3 IS TRASH! I agree with a lot of people on here that we should be able to get a full refund for a product that is effed up. But being the smart person that I am I know that's not happening. Traded it back in for about $40.....Been so happy since......I stay here for hopes of game improvement but......I"M not holding my breath.

            I'm a hardcore gamer as well.  Just look at my gamerscore (Mister Nubbles).  I don't play for achievements either, those are mostly from just playing the games (shows how many I've played.)  I don't usually trade games in or sell them either, so I still own all of those games on my list.

             

            I am not saying MW3 is the best ever, but it's not "unplayable" to me.  At first I died a lot from lag and such, but it does seem a LOT less now.  I like BF as well, but it's no replacement as the gameplay is just so different.

              I will have to agree about the 2 games being completely different. MW3 for me was good the first week then it just went to poo. I was just not goin to do it. I am waiting for news of improvment from a valid source..??? I have since upgraded my internet so maybe soon the game will change and I can pick it back up. But even with that in mind most of the people who have good net still seem to be complaining as well as the wal mart net guys. I get my fps fix from battlefield and have no complaints!

                I think you should try it out again.  Your internet connection has really nothing to do with it (as far as your internet "speed/bandwidth").  But it seems like either they have greatly improved the lag problem or all of the extreme laggers have quit and moved on.

                 

                I still get a WTF game every now and then (maybe 1 in 10), but I just jump out of those and try again.

              I agree Raheem, the game is not unplayable. It's very hard to enjoy though. I really want to enjoy it but after about 30 WTF moments in 5 games I just want to kill a pet or burn my neighbors house down.

    It is way better for me. I no longer need to saturate my upstream to make the game playable. if i'm chosen as host it is harder to kill people but overall I managed to bring my KD up to almost 1.2 from .7 since shortly before the patch and my frequent rage has calmed.

    They break it more with each patch, there was no released details that they were doing anything the connection in the .17 update, however since that came out, it's unplayable again. Joke.

      I think I have narrowed down what the problem is with the lag compensation. It lies in the MW3 servers usage of the flux capacitor. The version they are currently using (flux 1.0) is only capable of using rewind time once the 88ms level is reached. If they were to switch to flux 2.0 it would greatly increase the differential of the speed issue.

    It's gotten better for me but it comes and goes still.  I seem to have less lag then before the patch.  But I'll be going just fine with my friends and then all of a sudden everyone drops to 2 or 3 bars and our guns start shooting blanks.  Then it's like the game says "okay you've been handicapped for the 1st half of the game now it's time to handicap the other team" and then your bullets kill again and then it their turn to rage.

     

    However tonight playing a bunch of different game types running solo I had a fantastice session of lag free deliciousness.

     

    So it's better for me but not fixed.  It's still a love hate deal.

    it's not fixed and nor will it ever be.  MW3 has to be the worst quality game of all time, considering how much money it made.
