    Djam, that's regular ole lag, not lag compensation.  For as long as this game does not have dedicated servers, it will ALWAYS be like that, and it always has been like that in every COD multiplayer so far.  It's simply the time it takes for information to travel from your system to the host's system back to yours.  Other players will always begin firing their weapons a slight bit of time before you can see them firing on your own screen.

     

    This is precisely why a gun like the Type 95 is a problem in a game like COD.  It kills in 0.06 seconds, and aside from snipers and shotguns, no gun should ever be able to kill that fast.  You will always find yourself dead way before you even know you are being shot at.

    Akimbo scorpions are definitely not as good as FMG9 Akimbo.  I've used them both extensively.  The akimbo scorpions WERE probably the better choice at first, as they had a hipfire spread of 1.5-6 (FMG9s were 2nd most accurate, but Scorpions were still #1) but a patch came out that made the hip-fire spread for ALL akimbo weapons exactly the same (a fixed 5-5 that increases only when shooting).   Scorpions had the hipfire advantage, but that patch actually nerfed the akimbo scorpions MORE than the akimbo FMG9s, putting them on the same level.   FMG9s still have insane damage per second output (0.054 TTK) and 36 round magazines.

     

    The only secondary machine pistol I find to be appropriately balanced is the G18.  The other 3 need to be toned way down.

     

    And yes I defintely agree on the final stand thing.  I remember I was one of the guys who got that whole fuss started on the Black Ops forums, leading to that change after rounding up enough people =)

    Hi Ghandi-

        I read your update regarding the team feeling that the music adds to the intensity of the game.  While I can understand their views, I do not agree with them.  I feel the music handicaps my 2 favorite perks which are dead silence and sitrep.  All other perks are never handicapped, only those two perks.  To make it fair, maybe things should be done to make the other 3rd tier perks useless throughout the game as well?

     

    Besides that, the main issue I have is the lobby music.  When you are not even in a pregame lobby, just a lobby with friends trying to party up, there should not be any music at all.  Some times we enjoy chatting in a normal lobby to catch up with one another lives, and listening to the same loud, blaring music for 30 minutes makes you want to change games that give you the option to adjust this music.  Then in the pregame lobby, the music is so deafening that it gets to the point I do not even want to play the game any longer.  Then I only play SnD, so every round there is loud deafening music played, cant this be toned down a bit.

     

    I have played Call of Duty beginning back on PC in 2003.   Now I am enjoying the game on PS3 and am quite upset with the audio all the way around for PS3 when compared to my Xbox version.  The pregame lobby ticker is inaudible on PS3, footsteps drop out on PS3 when compared to Xbox.  Gunfire is weak on PS3 when compared to Xbox. 

     

    One last issue is that I have 65Mbps download and 13.5Mbps upload with a 8ms ping to a server 50-75 miles away.  Nat is Open, PS3 is DMZ'd and I am constantly gimped in MW3 to an unplayable level.  My accuracy has never been under 17% in any title.  It was 18% until patch 1.05, now my accuracy sits at 10.58% and is still going down.  This isnt because of my aim, its because my bullets go through people.

    Why do you people say there is no problem with lag compensation, just lag? I swear, this game and Black Ops are the first games I've seen something like that. In other games there can be lag, but everything will be synchronized anyway.

     

    For example, take World of Warcraft. This game works fine even when your ping is 200+ ms. Say you are in combat with a player. The enemy casts two spells within some time. Because of lag, you can't see the time between spells. The spells will fly out the enemy at once. Lag makes you unable to see time between spells. But still, you see ALL spells he casts and the enemy will suffer EVERY spells cast by you, albeit with some latency.

     

    New Call of Duty games are different: the artificial lag makes your bullets DISAPPEAR completely and HIDES enemy bullets. In older titles there was nothing like this. There was lag sometimes, but if you've shot some bullets at enemy, they WILL REGISTER even if you're already dead. There were numerous situations when playing with 1-2 bars when I shot first, died but still got kill. All because of lag, but lag DIDN'T REMOVE anything, just added latency.

    I posted several questions for you, but I would just like to know if any of the little finishing touches from Black Ops will ever make it into MW3. It seems like we took one step forward and two steps back, because the following features are missing:

     

    • ability to adjust volume on the music in the game
    • objective markers fade away if you look directly at them
    • scoreboards show objectives capped/defended (not even kill confirmed shows how many kills you confirmed, wtf??)
    • ability to not get your kill stolen out of last stand/final stand
    • ability to customize the reticle color/shape on scopes
    • ability to put your clan tag on the gun
    • ability to customize your title
    • ability to customize your facepaint and character
    • ability to see player stats right in the lobby
    • dive to prone

     

    All those little touches just made Black Ops seem like the devs really put some thought into it, they were for the most part great features that are sorely missed. (I really wish some people would quit hating on Black Ops so much)

     

    I just want to know what are the chances of seeing these improvements ever again.

    i think of nerfing any weapon they should buff up the other weapons. Eg. the Type 95. imagine reducing its damage so its a 2 shot burst to kill or a 1 burst chest and up kill only. Your going to make it useless just look at the m-16. I agree about the 2 shot kill nerf but to nerf its damage enough would mean 1 less gun people will use. Nerfing weapons just makes the game more boring. Ak- 47 and cm-901 are really quite pathetic compared to the other AR. Ive gotten gold Ak-47 working on cm-901 i think ppl would agree that it need a buff. I felt like the AR in mw2 were way more balanced. They all killed fast as **** and had something unique about them. like the ACR was like a laser beam but it was weaker. Scar was accurate and powerful (2-3shot kill)but had a low clip and low ammo count. Tar -21 was powerful (2-3shot kill) and reg clip size but had recoil and a weird red dot sight. Famas and m-16 work pefect. M-16 was more acurate but had a worse drop off damage rate. Famas had better fire rate but less accurate. M4a1 was probably the most versitile gun. F2000 had shitty recoil but high fire rate and beast hip firing. Ak-47 (2-3shotkill)had a slower fire rate and had bad visiul recoil but was accurate and to me it seem to have better penetration and it was a badass gun to use. But in mw3 they made all the guns virtually kill with 3 bullets. Its so boring. i seem to get redicoulouse amounts of assist per game and triple and multi kills seem harder to get because it takes to many bullets. well thats all i have to say about the AR balances. ill glady respne to anybody who thinks otherwise and hopefully someone wold consider this.

    Type 95 should have 40-34 damage. This will be 3-shot kill at any distance. And this weapon should have either lower rate of fire or restricted to have Rapid Fire on it.

    i agree. lower it so it doesnt 2 shot kill but still make it a 3 shot kill at any distance. this could be balanced out by making less accurate so it would take more burst since not all bullets would connect. They just need to buff up the other weapons to type 95 standards instead of taking the easy way out and nerfing the crap out of the type 95.

    Also, it's hipfire accuracy is still insane. I remember, FAMAS in Modern Warfare 2 was unusable in close quarters. With Type 95 in Modern Warfare 3 you don't even need to aim down sights. It's like Rambo mode. Just point it to an enemy and spam trigger. High damage and high rate of fire makes it better than a shotgun in close quarters.
