I am unable to host a party with my friends. I invite them and they can not join me. I can join them. My nat type is open. My ps3 is wired to my router and the settings are set correctly for this. It does show that proxy setting is unused. What do I have to do to get people to be able to join me.
dont know man. i can get a full party but get stuck finding a game in the lobby. it makes the sound like people are coming into the lobby but nobody shows up. frustrating!!!! good luck!!
You may want to double check your settings. Here's a guide to proper port forwarding:
Let us know how that works out for you.
its not my settings because i have never had this problem before, it seems that this problem has just started. and we have tried different people hosting and get the same thing.
If your nat is open that could mean the issue is the person your trying to connect with , do they have an open nat, try to help them fix there status and see if that works....
Well I have multiple people that I play with regularly, and I have tried it with all of them and no one can join me. They all also have a open nat type.
Are the people you're playing with able to connect to other players? If so, the issue can still be with your connection. Just like anything else, connection quality can degrade, or hardware can go bad. If the other players you are attempting to play with can connect with others, then you may want to contact your ISP for deeper connection troubleshooting.
Yes the other people are able to connect to others, just not me. If we play COD Black Ops there isn't any proplems. They all can connect to me, but not with MW3. Puzzling....
Hi Papabear1973,
Have you tried the steps in this link on your PlayStation 3?
Ok...clearing the cache and cookies and game data did not work. I have set a static IP address and put in DMZ thru my router and did not work. I am currently working on setting port forwarding but my router doesnt seem to recongnize it and Im not pay $30 that portforward.com is asking. Working with router tech support in hopes they can help with portforwarding.
This issue is caused by corrupt data that goes from your console to the MW3 servers. Usually caused by blocked ports. Then what happens is the servers revert to the last knwon good data try thishttp://portalpcgaming.blogspot.com/2011/12/port-forwarding-for-video-games.html
Sorry just saw that you tried that.
I would have your friends that you are trying to connect with try these steps as that could possibly be the cause as well
Portforward completed and I still can not host a game. No one can join me. Its retarded that other games work just fine but not this one. hmmmm
My party was having similar problems a couple days ago. As a host, one guy could not be in the same party as the other player. But once they transfered host to me everything was fine. I'm not really sure why it was like that.
If you have assigned a static IP address to your PS3 and set that IP address as the DMZ host you can verify that everything is open on your end through the Playstation 3 internet browser.
If you go to http://canyouseeme.org in the Playstation 3 Internet Browser, you can check all of the necessary ports (80, 443, 3074, 3478, 3479, 3658, and 5223). If you forwarded the ports for your static IP address, then you should see the ports all displaying as open. However, if you took the static IP you assigned and set your Playstation 3 as the DMZ host of your router, they should all show up as "Connection Refused."
Make sure that you do not accidentally have DMZ and port forwarding enabled at the same time (for the same static IP), as these settings cancel each other out and cause this problem.
What is the brand of your router? I have had this problem for all CoD games and other games as well. I cannot host while connected to my router, but if I connect my PS3 directly to my modem, obviously there are no issues.
Well, I took ps3 out of dmz and set port forwarding. Static IP is set also. Still no one can connect to me. I went to web site above to confirm ports are open and it shows a totally different IP address then what my ps3 and router show. In fact the IP address given isn't even list under my router as a used address. Now what
