Re: Xbox on a wireless connection cheating?

Yes, but in that line of thinking there are a lot of people who share network connections with roomates or wife and kids who are doing things at the same time. Also there are people who have servers for a online business, how is anyone going to destinguish wether someone is doing it on purpose or not? If someone thinks this will put them closer to real time as per the host I just don't see how its cheating. Now purposely avoiding host I can see being a issue, but at the same time if you are lagging as host everytime you draw it I can see why you would want to avoid it. Not saying thats right but I can understand the logic.

As I said in a previous post, I think Ghandi may have been fibbing in order to get people to stop decreasind their bandwidth, as if enough people do it, the game will just get worse, as less viable hosts are availible. Pretty sure he was just blowing smoke so to speak, as it would be impossible to tell what exactly was going on for many of the reasons you listed.

And yep, if I host the game, I tend to be lagging behind everyone, and it becomes frustrating to play. So limiting my UL so its outside the probably realm of hosting helps make this game better for me.

How is it cheating if someone doesn't want to have an ethernet cable running all throughout their house? I did the same thing, and my performance hasn't changed at all.

Then how do I end up in a lobby where I'm the host and I'm the only person in the lobby with three bar? And the lobbies where everybody has three bar or less?

It doesn't give you an advantage it levels the playing field. There is nothing wrong with doing everything in your power to get rid of lag.

Nah, not cheating. My Xbox is only on wirless, has been for over 2 1/2 years of playing the games online. Never been considered cheating before.

Except for artificially lagging your connection which is akin to a lag switch doesnt really level the playing field. It actually induces more lag in many instances. I dont advocate lagging out your connection to get cheaply gained "good" scores. Changing the QoS=good. DL torrents and such=bad.

Re: Xbox on a wireless connection cheating?

How would downloading be any different then to purposely adjust your QoS, one in the same if you ask me. The point of the matter here is that people are trying to adjust just to have a fair chance, I had a guy in my old squad that we called invisible simply because the guy was not able to be killed simply because of his connection. For those that say there is no lag please do your research before you comment, hell just look up "understanding lag compensation on mw3" in you tube. It use to be that if your downloading /or running anything while playing you would get horrible lag but with MW3 your getting the best connection possible. What really annoys me is that in game it shows you having 4 bars but the gameplay is no better than a true 2 bar. If you think this is cheating then I could only guess that MW3 is the only game you've been good at since you know you have the upper hand due to your crappy connection. If your running around feeling like to have cat like reflexes and no one could beat you but MW3 is the only game you could do it on dude wake up its the game!! I've been playing CoD since WaW and this is the first game that I simply refuse to play due to the horrible gameplay cause by this lag comp. Hopefully BO2 doesn't have this issue because if it does then it would be the last CoD game I buy.
