Balance Assassin / Future Stealth perks by scrambling their minimap

If an Assassin user doesn't want to be detected on the minimap, then he/she must sacrifice access to their minimap too (Scramble it the entire game.) If people can't detect you, then why should you be able to detect them?
A common argument I see from the pro-Assassin crowd is that people should be using their eyes and ears instead of chasing red dots on the minimap. I agree, but don't think for second that the majority of Assassin users don't chase the red dots either. Even ADS corner campers will sit and wait for a red dot to walk right into their sights. Scramble their minimap and there would be a significant decrease in Assassin IMO.
Obviously, it is too late to implement something like this for MW3, but this solution or something similar could possibly be implemented to help balance stealth perks in future installments of this game. Marksman would be a nice counter too. Reward people for using thier eyes to find people instead of the minimap.
I don't care either way if it ever changes or not. I will just play the game and have fun regardless. I figured I would offer my two cents since every Call of Duty related discussion boards I visit many people are complaining that Assassin has no counters, or that it is overused and/or overpowered.
You would basically go from making one perk overpowered (at least in your opinion) to another if Marksman were to bypass Assassin Pro. I think that the only thing making Assassin Pro OP is the Counter UAV being inneffective to a user of the perk, other than that nothing else bothers me.
Again I'll say this, Assassin only effect killstreaks. It doesn' nothing else for the player using it. They don't get ammo, have better accuracy, or have a higher resistance to grenades. Grow up and stop being a one demisional n00b. Develop some situational awareness
Both eyes AND radar need to be used in equal measure, IMO.
Relying solely on one or the other WILL get you killed by walking right into someone's waiting guns in some fashion.
Typical response. This community is no longer what it was back in COD 1-4 days. The insults and name calling have become ridiculous. Noob this, noob that, mixed it with racial slurs, cursing, more cursing, mom insults, get skills, etc, etc. 75 percent of the people you encounter in this community(be it in a lobby or discussion board) are incapable of carrying on a civil discussion anymore.
Did you not even read my post? I simply offered a suggestion because every forum call of duty related forum I visit people complain about the over effectiveness of Assassin. I don't get upset by what kills me in a video game. I just hit X and re-spawn regardless.
Grow up? Develop situational awareness? Noob? It is video game, it doesn't pay my bills. What do those have to do with this discussion anyway? Has everyone in this community become a parrot? All I ever hear are the same insults and cursing over and over. BTW, grown ups don't resort to name calling. Maybe you should grow up?
By that logic Stalker users should not be able to use claymores/betties since they aren't affected by them.
Sitrep users should make stomping noises that everyone can hear because they can hear everyone else.
Blast shield users explosive damage should be toned down because they take less damage from explosives themselves.
Dumb logic, congrats.
I disagree. I believe a more fair trade off would be to simply not allow Assassin users to benefit from UAV at all. Assassin keeps you off the mini map when the enemy team has a UAV. So, a fair trade off for more balance would be to not allow Assassin users to see UAV sweeps. Considering the fact that even an Assassin user will show up on the mini map shooting an unsilenced weapon, no reason an Assassin user should not be allowed to see a player shooting off an unsilenced weapon as well.
Thank you Call of Wheezy. Great suggestion!
Finaly a good idea, go ask for a job @ IW ![]()
You mean something like Scrambler from MW2? That pretty much did nothing but give away the position of whoever was using it for me... I thought it was a pretty terrible perk. I liked the idea of the Jammer equipment more, as it's more tactical to lay it on an objective, rather your enemies' radar suddenly is jammed, therefore he knows someone is running up on his ass and becomes alert.
But Jeeze, this is the 4th thread in less than 3 hours just hatin' on Assassin, it seems like...
I dont think Assassin is in any way overpowered there are counters for it (Recon Drone and Recon perk) they may not be as powerful as the blackbird in BO but i personally found the blackbird overpowered.
There have always been stealth perks in CoD and they are needed without a way to keep hidden some playstyles cannot be used effectively. I myself have made use of stealth perks since CoD4 because a single red dot behind enemy lines tends to draw a load of attention.
Assassin users are not that much of an issue and if they are causing most of your deaths my advice to you would be stop relying on the Radar so much and take a more cautious approach. If your really struggling play hardcore for a while it helps with situational awareness and gets you into the habit of sweeping an area instead of charging in blind.
