    I'm not talking purely about Shotguns, but issues on the whole. This includes shotguns though. I don't know how any of your statistics can point to the shotguns being decent. Simply go play a few rounds with them yourself, you'll see they aren't that great. Also, start with them at level 1, like everyone else. The grind just isn't worth it.

    I know the first instinct is going to be to suggest it's lag, but simply experiencing it, you can tell it's much different. The corrospending video is no longer in my vault, but I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to get another one in there. What you really want to pay attention to how things are skipping around. Controls are completely unresponsive, including the pause menu (where as with lag, the pause menu still functions I've noticed).

     

    It's hard to explain, but the best I can explain is that everything literally drops to 1-3 frames per second.

    I was getting bored with this game, thought I'd try to have fun with the riot shield--and it was fun for a bit. 

     

    I am sick and tired though of getting knifed THROUGH the riot shield, people shooting dead center of the riot shield and getting hit markers on me, and sticking a semtex on the shield and me dying instead of being protected.  Note, I said shooting dead center of the riot shield, knifing dead center of the riot shield--it is not lag sneaking around the side as it takes skill to overcome that and is fine.  Being able to hit the riot shield center mass is not skill and makes me a easy target.

     

    I'm not asking for a buff here--it just needs to be fixed.  I'm even okay with the butt sticking out while crouch-strafing as that could be considered the skill when using this weapong (though stupid in its own right).  Just fix how it is frickin' intended to work.

    Heres the issue with Pump shotguns, they are either a one shot kill up close and are going to be considered OP or there going to be a two shot kill up clsoe and will be complete garbage. The real issue with people and there weapon balance issues are not the weapons, but the Maps, people like to like the small map like Nuke Town, Rust, Dome ect.. but what they don't realise is that small maps especially maps with lots of corners and turns and short hallways are going to complement close quarters combat: shotguns, akimbos, smgs. And well that makes sense? now the issues are when you put lots of corners and turns you get lots of campers. Also when 9/10 of the maps in the game are close quarters maps it tends to make certain weapons over used so everyone just complains.

     

    But the best part is when they finally come out with a map that is open and large everyone instantly hates it. Liberation, I have played countless games on there now and I have to say I have only ever seen one guy using a shotgun, no one ever using akimbos, and hardly any smgs. Almost all snipers and AR users. Which is good to me I like that. I get to run around with my M4A1 and tear people up without walking around a corner and getting killed by a shotgun one hit before I can even fire a bullet, or just completely taken apart by akimbo machine pistols. Yeah there are lots of sniper but if you know how to navigate a map properly you can evade snipers especially becasue almost all the snipers use the same spots. Learn from your mistakes.

     

    Now I in no way agree with the balance of shotguns and I think allowing akimbo machine pistols was a mistake but whatever. When you look at all the things people considered OP well that leaves out handguns, and LMGs lol which is sad.

    If they gave the Riot Shield the side-mount guards (like was suggested countless times in MW2), they'd be useful. Currently the only thing I like doing with them is teaming up with a friend, and we just run Riot Shield + RPG x2 (though I prestiged, so I can't for a while). It delivers some hilariously good results at times.

     

    Any serious use of the shield though is trounced by the fact that lag is such a huge factor (hence why side-guards are needed).

    Amen comrade! I loved the shield in MW2!(Except the fact that Blast Shield had to be triggered, and replaced my T knife. Plus, COMMANNNDOOOO!!!!!

    I can understand the doubt. Can you understand that we are currently content with the way the SGs are balanced? Every post I've read on this topic comes from those who like to use SGs. Naturally I've seen little or no commentary from those who feel frustrated being on the end of SG use. We also need to consider this.

     

    This doesn't mean we are turning a blind eye to the community. We are buffing LMGs because it was highlighted that they were underused and we agreed. It's the agreement amongst both sides that's the important factor here.

     

    I think it's best to park this topic in this forum.

    But did people not complain about the type-95, akimbo machine pistols, the mp7, and the per-patch striker. The Striker with extended mags was clearly OP and almost every shotgun user on here would agree with that and agree with IW decision to take away the extended mags glitch from it. However I saw no complaints from the community about the pre-patch spas-12 or aa-12, so I don't see where we are in the wrong. What we're asking for are shotguns that aren't even as good as those guns were, as a pre-dropoff damage buff doesn't increase the guns damage at range like the extended mags glitch did. Who is going to complain about shotguns other than shotgun users though, to the rest of the community we are just easier to kill and thus non-shotgun users would want them as weak as possible. We just want to have fun in a game most of us paid $100 for with our favorite guns.

     

    If you put a proposed buff to the model, spas, ksg, and aa-12, as described in the shotgun balance thread, to a public vote on this website, I think most people would be in favor of it, which is what I think you should do as all cod users, not just shotgun users would have feedback. If it is shot down, then we would have no argument as the majority would want it otherwise. I think that this would be a fair and just way to finally put this issue to rest, so we can stop wasting each others time on this forum talking about a shotgun buff.

    manbearpig, good idea but I fear it may be struck down since the CoD community has a negative bias towards shotguns. If it isn't the "popular SMG or AR", they don't want any competition. Use a naked AA-12 and listen at all the rage about "fully auto shotgun noob cannons"

     

    I swear that someone ACTUALLY said the AA-12 is completely OP and needs a nerf. a NERF!!!!! My AA-12 wasn't even level 5!!
