I'm going to provide two sides to the dashboarding controversy.

Dashboarders suck, I mean you're having the best match until the host unplugs their network cable, presses the XBOX button on their controller & goes to dashboard in which all players apart from the host get's a lost on their record.

I have my bad games & I have my good games however on my bad games, I'm normally there until the end or I leave the match.

On the other side, hosting sucks. Trust me, I host approx 70% of matches in parties in which most of them become unplayable while some kid switching from a 2 - 3 bar connection on their wireless connection is instantly killing me or I'm shooting more than required to kill players.

On the forums, I'm constantly asking the devs to stop punishing the host which may lessen the number of host dashboarders & possibly provide smooth & in-sync matches for players with decent connections. If you're playing off a unsecured wireless connection or your brother is using YouTube or torrenting, you should be the one lagging (terrible hit detection etc). This applied to both COD4 & MW2 & should apply to MW3

Laggy players should not be rewarded or given an advantage.

You may be asking why I don't rage quit/dashboard as host?

The reason is  that I party up with decent players so I don't end up hosting a team of randies & I know I can depend on my teammates to assist me if I'm having a bad game. I can try to enjoy the game with friends.

Another point I want to make is that "advanced" stats has negatively impacted the game in terms of quitters/dashboarders etc.

I would like to see stats removed as well but unfortunately, this will never happen considering this is a part of the COD Elite service.

I don't get angry at host dashboarders because I know how much hosting sucks. But I don't think players should be given a loss for the host leaving the game without a host migration.

I guess I'll be in the minority here. I have never once dashboarded under any circumstances. This is also coming from someone who pulls host 90-95% of the time since I have a good connection (65 down 15 up). I do put up with the bs instadeaths where my screen doesn't go red I just die, the enemy takes 3 shotgun shots to the face and kills me in what seems like 2 bullets. And ofcourse, there is always the dying around corners, killcams where I've sprayed entire clips at somebody and it doesn't look like I hit them at all while they seemingly kill me in 2 shots.

Even with all that happening seemingly every game for me, I still don't dashboard, I just shake my head and say "oooh mw3, how I love you" and go about my gaming session. I learned awhile ago with all the issues in mw3 yhou can't take it seriously.

It's all about the disincentive (a strong enough one) or an incentive (as in, count stats real-time).

I've decided to only care about my stats in the context of improving them as evidence that I'm getting better/achieving something, and to compare to those on my friends list as we have a lot of fun/competition trying to stay ahead of someone or catch them on score, wins, kills, etc.

Perhaps the only two valid uses of stats.

In the end it's a little pathetic and sad for those who dashboard just before the end of the game.. it's like a whole generation can't seem to clue-in to the fact that means your efforts have no INTEGRITY, but that's probably a by-product of the "everybody gets a medal, there are no losers" culture that is wussifying this country.

 

So you refuse to pad your stats legitimately by playing an Infected for a free win, but you are happy to pad your stats illegitimately via the dashboard... That's not self serving double standards at all. Well done you are a  hypocrite...

 

And FYI there are ways to adapt and preserve your stats legitimately when everyone on the enemy team seems to have a half second advantage. Go uber defensive or hide somewhere with very long sight lines for one. Grab a USAS if it's a small map for two...

you can call me fake if you want but i know how good i played MW2 and ik how good i play MW3 when I'm not lagging you dont know me so you cant just that about me, but in a way my stats ARE legit because if the match IS NOT LAGGING and im playing a LEGIT GAME then i will stay in wether im getting my ass kicked, the match is almost over and im thrown on the loosing team or what ever the ONLY time i dash is when i'm lagging because I'm playing with a severe handicap and thats far from a "legit game'

and yes..let me grab a USAS when they are half a second ahead of me that way I can shoot at the corner they come around (but in reality shoot 3 feet to their left) get a hit marker at what looks like point blank (if im lucky to get a shot off) then instantly drop thats def a anti lag tatic.

anybody who suffers from lag knows no change in game play is gonna matter because when the enemy is in a location DIFFERENT then what you see on your screen its pretty damn impossible to hit them unless they are running directly at you not trying to kill you So for you to be saying things like that show me your ignorant to how bad some people get lagged in this game

but as far as talking about this with you, the fact that you started to throw out childish insults just shows the type of person you are and that YOU are the one who shouldn't be bothered with because you cant keep up a mature conversation with somebody whos views differ from yours

now that im done with the person who insults somebody for no reason this is what I say to everybody else. If you dash EARLY in the game because you realize its a game where your gonna be a half of second behind (which is what I do) then your NOT padding your stats your just not having a laggy game go on your record because you know no matter WHAT tatic you use your gonna be ******. BUT if you wait untill the end of the game to dash then your most likely padding your stats or just hoping your host to **** everybody else over.
