Todays Topic: Do not blame Assasin perk!

Its a hot topic that many here can argue about (without insulting others) , without focusing on what it does I will look at what it doesn't do:
Does not make you invisible to the eye (only radar)
Does not make you silent
Does not help against air support
Does not improve accuracy, speed or hand eye coordination
I use it allot because I prefer the attacking element of surprise, what does he mean? I flank allot in this game, if my team is headed in one direction I am going the opposite, simply I seek and kill.
In conclusion, do not blame this perk for your errors, it forces the enemy to engage and to be quick with their hand eye coordination.
Note: Please keep your response short and sweet, nothing worse than a book size response. Summarize your view.
It's my favorite perk for rushing/flanking etc. When I am rushing the enemy, I want to surprise them. Not have me show up on their radar, and then them greeting me with a flash, headglitch, tube, rocket, prone, prefire, spray, corner camping etc etc etc.
I use it a lot b/c people in HC like to spam UAV's. When they are throwing up 20 UAV's in a match, you need Assassin to survive. Yes, I can easily kill them without it, but I play HC for the element of surprise. No mini-map, no HUD. You have to rely on ALL of your senses to get the kill.
I've had to play HC more than usual because of the clan operations and grown appreciative of this mode. This mode really forces you to play your best!
Funny thing is that I do not use assassin in HC because it lasts a few seconds, I prefer hardline.
Yes hearing is a crucial sense, but sitrep pro takes away from the element of surprise and therefore adrenaline, which makes hc snd less fun. I think you'll get what I mean. Cod4 was the perfect game. No counter to dead silence, a perk for pros.
The only people that complain about assassin, are the people that suck. And the majority of people on this forum are noobs, as I can see. I feel bad that they have to rely on their uav, minimap, portable radar, sitrep pro, and heartbeat sensor to gt kills. Scrub crybabies.
it is great to use on my shotgun classes with dead silence, makes it much easier to flank and sneek up on people. I also noticed that way too many people are to reliant on the mini map and are surprised when i get close to them for ohk's
Wow, thank God we haven't gotten a reply from the scrub yet! Another legit player on this forum!!!!1 Hooraaayyy!!!! lolz
I look at it as more of a situational perk. I prefer hardline or quickdraw for AR and SMG and unless running shotgun classes assassin does not come out until i see the enemy spamming uav or portable radar and red dot chasing
Good response, what game mode do you play mostly?
Domination
Thats just mean man, trying to capture a flag and then hearing that loud blast haha...
That shotgun blast that hits you from behind is the only thing that surprises me sometimes in the game! Hate and love it at the same time! haha
I agree, Assasin users are always called campers but I like to use it in my SMG classes when I'm flanking the enemy. I have 75% of time on my classes. And everybody who says it's overpowered, just think how OP support-UAV would be if there was no Assasin. Everybody would be shown in the radar like a christmas tree. Maybe they should just take UAV off from the game. Would make it more skill baced than looking at the radar for enemies. Then there wouldn't be need to have Assasin at all.
Good post although i wouldn't completly take it out but limit the amount of times it is used, awsome i actully found a thread with real players, that understand the game, its just to bad that Mw3 is not made for competitive players anymore. Good thread Btw.
Thanks for posting,
Can you explain your statement "to bad that MW3 is not made for competitive players"?
I was thinking about that too. Does the lag inhibit competitive play? Sounds like another prepubescent CoD "elitist" to me....

I pull out my "stealth" class ( silenced weapon, assassin pro, blind eye pro, and dead silence pro) when the enemy spam's the hell out of the uav other then that i don't have it on any of my other classes. I do love the cries after the match on how i suck because i won't let them see me on the map.
I hardly hear those complaints. I slowly am trying other second tier perks, specifically hardline.
all the rest of my classes i use quick draw and hardline.
knew it, sad just sad
What Barney is sad, according to you?
Agree with you OP but i would like to see two things happen in the next COD
First thing is to nerf the UAV, lets see no support for starters and either make the UAV a personal one (might be too much of a nerf) or have it so the person who calls it in gets feedback every sweep but team mates get every third sweep or something.
Next assassin should be used for flanking and not sitting in a corner all game for people to walk by not expecting you so i would like to see UAVs to show assassin players who are not moving i dont know how they could do that effectivly though.
I use Assasain a lot when I'm not running specialist, and I only use it when I'm trying to move around the map more freely.
The thing I'll never understand is why camp with BE, Assasain and SitRep. If you're camping they're whole team is going to know where you are after you get one or two kills, why not use more helpful perks
I don't mind it that much. You are giving up quickdraw for it, and in my opinion, that's not worth using assassin. I'll use it in specialist when I don't have what I want unlocked already.
The only reason I use Assassin Pro alot more is for Portable Radars.
UAV's don't bother me too much considering they can be taken out however seeing 3-4 players on the enemy team spread 3-4 portable radars all over the map can be frustrating especially when you are using a non-Assassin perk.
Players only hate on Assassin because their Support UAV/Assault UAV, portable baby monitors & HB sensors don't work.
I'm a specialist whore. I don't use assault or support killstreaks. So I always have Assassin and Blind in either my main perk set-up, or included in my specialists perks. It balances out the game with the constant UAV spamming. And Assassin hasn't benifited my K/D ratio. I find people still don't have a problem killing me. Especially people who been playing CoD since CoD 2, or 3, or 4, whatever. I have ADD, so I never payed attention to UAV's to get my kills most of the time. HAHA!
Specialist is one of the best killstreak options that IW came up with, I never rely on my map to find someone, only when the dot is close enought to engage.
Same. Whether there close enough on the radar or a teammates portable radar.
I totally agree with the original post. but I use it for one thing and one thing only. I feel that alot of people use marksman and i feel like my position should be giving away to anyone that cant see me with the naked eye. marks man in my opinion is the worst perk ever. its powerful but unfair i think
*NOTE* MY RESPONSE IS NOT SHORT AND SWEET. GAME BALANCE IS NOT SIMPLE.
Just so we're all clear on one point people keep bringing up, every one always says something along the lines of 'you have to have good reactions'. This is not true and is physically impossible, as part of the human species almost no one has any deviation in reaction time, what little does devieate is not noticeable to anything but a computer. This has been proven over and over and over, if you want to debate this with me, I gladly welcome it and I will show you why you're wrong.
Assasin also makes you immune to EMP's, advanced UAV's, Heart Beat sensors and Portable Radar's.... Why, why does it need all of that, that is enough right there to make it OP. In every previous COD you had to use more than one perk to make you invisible to more than UAV. So why all of a sudden does one perk do as much as two used too, PLUS more on top of all that.
No, you're right, it doesn't make you silent and for good f*cking reason. If you honestly think that assasin not making you silent aswell is a good reason to back up your 'it's not OP' claim than you my friend, are the last person that should be chiming in on game balance.
In a couple ways assasin does help to make you invisible to the eye including thermal scopes and name plates. But the biggest issue with assasin is the eratic and unpredictable (at best) spawns, it makes the game waaaaay to unpredictable as well as all the super tight corners and halways etc.. of the map.
I've always played a lot of the time as a flanker in every COD, and I've never needed the assistance of the stealth perks to do it, so why do you? You don't! They make it so it's not even a challenge. Most players in this game are sh*t too and won't do things like watch flank routes, and they don't have situational awareness, so coming up behind a team is usually GG.
On an ending not, learn to play in other styles and other ways. Playing without assasin and silencer can do amazingly, use yourself as bait and move around the map accordingly. All my MOABS are unsilenced.
First thanks for posting knaley,
There is no need to debate reaction or hand eye coordination, you have your view I have mine. My post was a way to un mask excuses, basically the perk doesn't make anyone a better player, that is dependent on well the player.
Your third paragraph is confusing, I never mentioned a defense on it being OP, as the title of my post states "don't blame it".
Your fourth paragraph on spawning, I agree its sporadic but what does assassin perk and spawning have to do with each other?
I am playing with it less, out of curiosity and using a silenced weapon is a great idea.
