How Can I Improve My Sniping Skills?

Hey, I'm a decent sniper (wii remote and not acog), but I feel like a could be a lot better at times with my aim. Moving targets are troublesome at times. If anyone knows any nice sightlines that aren't common, mind mentioning them (I know the one on village which is real nice)?
Also, do you guys feel quickscoping is neccessary to be a good sniper? I sure as hell can't quickscope with wii remote and no acog... I play on a medium ish senstivity, is that too low? Other tips would be nice too!
If you guys could direct me to a video of a good wii remote sniper that doesn't use acog that would be nice too...
hey it was so sweet quickscoping with you but we failed alot lol and go to clan site LEG1T wants to talk with you
Lol yeah it was fun failing. I'm still a decent hardscoper looking to get better though.
The thing you should do when you see a moving target is aim ahead of them, and just time the shot as they move across your crosshairs. For example, you see someone moving left across your screen, scope in in front of them, then once they line up, bang, they're dead. It takes some practice, but is the most effective way to hit moving targets.
Yeah I do that, guess I need a tad more practice!
I have my turn speeds to the max. Also my dead zones are set at 3 bars. It helps a whole lot since I can turn faster. You should raise your cursor sensitivity to the max since you want natural hand movement.
I find it rather hard to use max sensitivity probably because I'm used to lower sensitivities, is this something you can get used to easy? Is working your way up sensitivities a better idea in a situation like this to gradually get used to it?
I increased them little by little after each game. Also, I lowered my deadzones little by little. It's best if you play by what's the most comfortable, but if you want to get max sensitivities, do what I did.
Ok thanks alot, and how about those people leaving the game as I was closing in on the moab? ![]()
Ccp 10 sensivity.
I became better when I bought the CCP from the beginning of Black Ops. I've mastered it already on MW3 too. CCP FTW. ![]()
I think the CCP is pretty good for sniping, but when i need to use any other weapon with it I just can't aim! Therefore I use the wii remote haha.
I went on a throwing knife rampage when we practiced because I refused to use reg scope!![]()
Lol, ok.
You don't need to know how to quick scope, though do need to know how to have your pointer on the enemy before ADS.
Don't always be down on the scope so you can look at your HUD.
Always be prepared to go into CQC.
Keep your distance from the enemy.
If you see an enemy running and not sure if you can kill him, take the shot anyways. You'll be surprised.
If the first shot misses, don't hesitate to shoot again.
Learn to drag scope
Don't use ACOG.
Don't use Aim Assist.
MSR or Barret work best.
If the person is right in front of you, no scope and hope it hits them. If not switch to your secondary.
Don't move too much while sniping unless being shot at.
I have my turn speed settings set to intense. Pretty fast but not crazy.
^ Very good tips! Quickscoping with the wiimote is only possible when your target is standing still because you cannot turn when you start to scope in. I wish if they allowed you to turn and adjust to your target when you are about to scope in. =( That's probably the only reason why ccp is easier. I've gotten a couple of lucky quickscopes though.
I think drag scoping is something I could improve on, any advice on this one? Lol probably not.
Also, to chicago: I kind of figured quickscoping wouldn't work on wii, it just doesn't operate the same as the ps3 and xbox from what I've found...
rushed snipe you wanna play in 30 mins
I don't think I can but maybe.
mexy wants to see you on clan site
Hold your breath, drag, take the shot once you think it's on him. Not much else I can say other then to practice lol.
Yeeup, sounds like something that can be done with effectiveness eventually... thanks a lot for the help vampy, maybe we can play later! ![]()
Glad to be at help ![]()
I'll support anyone that doesn't hip spray snipers or use ACOG ![]()
And yea sure I wouldn't mind another ally.
I've already added you after seeing your ally code on the other threads. I'm Ajax btw.
CCP, Sensitivity 10. Should finish the job up.
hey i had trouble with regular sites on a sniper rifle but get a thermal and it makes things easier if they dont have assassin when they run move the crosshair a lil in front of them then follow them a lil ways if u dont they might randomly stop sometimes u might want a silencer so u can practive shooting at them without them knowing i hope these tips help because all im good at with a sniper is long range i suck at quick scope but idc thanks for reading
run-on run-on run-on run-on run-on yay yay yay -___-
i dont use periods because i dont feel like reaching all the way over to the . button lol

So lets look at the keyboard. You ended the sentence with "l". Now move your finger slowly down one button and a bit to the right. That is the period button. Success, you know where and how the period button works and where it is.
he must not know proper typing skills. my guess is that he types with his left forefinger only and doesn't know how to coordinate the rest of his hand and right hand in proper typing motions ![]()
Hay give him a break maybe he had his pinkey, ring, and middle finger cut off ![]()
This has to be one of the lamest excuses I've read.. *facepalm*
I've tried thermal on sniper rifles before and kind of hated it but maybe its changed since then... I have used silencers on sniper rifles before, that works well with assasin too as long as you find a good spot that isn't common.
It'd be cool if there was an easy fool proof way to get better, but what i think all it comes down to is practice, and watching games of some really good players and seeing what they do that makes them succeed.
Most of the things they do to succeed is get better aim, lol. Movement from area to area isn't hard to figure out imo.
Thermal scope and stability is very useful for me when I snipe because I use wiimote and nun chuck.
I heard the draganov was good.

Main tip: take the shot. Many times now I've seen an enemy but took too long to line up the crosshairs and missed my chance.
As someone said before: "If you don't try, you will have no chance of succeeding. If you try, you will have a chance at succeeding." Well, not exactly, but you get the message.
