Interactive maps, your opinion and if they are in MW3.

I LOVED the interactive maps in BO. It was one of the cool features. (Opening the gates in Radiation, Zip lines in Kowloon, Elevators in Hotel, CLosing the doors in Stockpile). I also enjoyed the Missile launch in...Launch, and it was something that added to the maps. Did you guys enjoy these features? Would you want to see something like this again?
Have they been confirmed in MW3 yet?
A lot of them were for fun, like the zip-lines, but the radiation door and stock pile doors were key in a good team strategy to hold objectives, and made things more interesting IMO. Thoughts, comments, trolls?
Some were good, some were bad, some were pretty pointless. But I could not complain if they were in but either way is fine with me it will not ruin or make the game or experiance for me.
I agree on the pointlessness, like the zip-lines, but it was just something added. And I did get a few good saves from using them in objective games, helps you move faster.
Edit: While I am here i'd love to RANT about how pissed off I am "Text is prohibited due to profanity" or whatever it says while making a class in Black Ops, get rid of it IW. I couldn't name my ******* class FAMAS. It's a GUN IN THE GAME. HOW IS IT PROFANE. 3arc pisses me off. /rant

Isn't that what makes gaming fun... doing pointless stuff sometimes because you can?
So did you like them, or want them to return?
I thought the interactive parts added to the feel of the maps...
... never had an issue with them.
i dont think theres a big need for them really and the only one i found usefull was on radiation
Would you prefer them not to return? Did you feel they took away from the maps? Or just didn't add anything and being there or not, it made no difference?
dont really care like i said it was only the doors on radiation i found usefull
i never used the ziplines or the elevators
I was never a fan of interactive maps (or many of the features that Black Ops implemented) simply because I felt it added to the randomness of the game. I'm not a fan of random in multiplayer: random is uncontrollable, uncontrollable isn't fun. I prefer static maps, with a random starting spawn instead (I think that would be pretty fun). Interactive maps, in my opinion, are just pointless. And pointless isn't suited for Call of Duty.
I understand what you mean I hate random and I rather dislike really lucky players who have no skill. But stuff like the doors in Radiation actually implemented tactics beyond just getting kills or killstreaks and did not really make things random I mean players had to go out of there way to click a button that leaves plenty of opertunity to stop them or counter it, it is just a little more map control.
I agree, it wasn't random at all, it was who was smart enough to use the map to their advantage.
Are you more of a TDM player or OBJ player? IMO the interactive stuff on the maps shine during OBJ games. Closing the radiation doors after capturing B was essential to holding the B point.
I like the ones that added strategy. Like Stockpile and Radiation. The guns on Berlin Wall were a great place to throw care packages. Especially during DOM. People would focus on how to get those rather than points. Same on Jungle I would throw my packages into the minefield during DOM to distract the other team. I would like to see more interactive maps.
Smart person right here ![]()
I'm giving you correct answer due to explaining why you wanted them, and how you used them before.
lol nice. yeah there is nothing wrong with interactive maps if they will actually benefit a game not distract or be there to look cool.
I found the Launch event to be both cool, AND beneficial, especially for objectives, where it was under the rocket. Plant the bomb, Pppppppppppfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffttttttttttttttttttttttttttt as it flies and you can't defuse it. UMAD other team?
Yeah that one does show some strategy because as soon as it starts going off you better make sure that no one can plant because you will be screwed. Plus the shaking screen made it harder for everyone to shoot properly and some people say it is stupid but it does show you who is skilled and who is not.
And so cool to watch, IMO. Just wish we could shoot rockets at it to blow it up for fun 8)
Oh my god I hate the rocket on Launch. I lol'd when it killed the other team, but the shaking was the worst. Almost everyone I talk to agrees they would like Launch alot more if there was no shaking.
The elevators were a great tool also. Throw decoy grenades in them, send them up, then take the alterante route to the top.
Issue with that is who shoots the entire time they are in the elevator? Not saying it don't work because there are plenty of noobs out there who probably have fallen for it lol
People are dumb. Another good idea, is throw a claymore inside or outside of it, somebody will walk into it eventually, guaranteed. Nothing worse then the doors opening and you blowing up.
Dude it never ceases to amaze me how many people still run to my decoys and run around in circles. Sometimes I find it hard to shoot bc I feel sorry for em.
lol yeah idk it justs whenever i see a stream of shots i one area and then it moveing across the map slightly perfectly timed it just screams decoy.
Also it's the only 'gunshot' in the game that sounds like that =P
yeah thats true to. it does have a rather unique sound.
Yeah 80% of the time it made that unused SMG sound. If you got lucky it did the M60 sound.
yeah honestly i swear i heard one make a SG sound onece.
SG?
I like it. I agree with the strategic point of view. Opening doors is an asset they should bring back. Ziplines are usually a suicide ride, somebody always waits to pick someone off. In MW3, I could see some repelling lines in the mall map in Germany, to link floors together for a faster descent or ascent.
Yes for interactive maps. It helps break from the boredom.
Example, in a party of about 4 people in TDM. We all went down the zip-line in Kowloon at once, and we died some many times, but both we and the enemy team got so many laughs that it was worth the losing game. XD
So far from what I've seen the MW3 maps don't look too interactive. I think because most of the current maps in MW3 on focusing on cities rather than secret bases and wutnot like Blops, there is a little less to do, but I could be wrong.
I want more silly easter eggs to be honest, like The Rolling Stones playing in Nuketown. =D
I thought the ziplines had a use if the enemy was distratced, had a few james bond moment of swinging down behind somebody.
