Air support needs a short period of immunity

I know I am going to get a lot of hate for this, but with the support package hosting SAM turrets and every second player on any given team running around with a launcher, I find that 80% of all air support gets shot down before even entering the map, if they are lucky enough to even get into the playing area they last a couple of seconds max. It is not fair to any player earning a 12 KS to get his pavelow/AC-130 shot down before it even enters the map, regardless of the argument, I worked for that streak while the person who shot it down did so with such ease.

 

Before i hear the inevitable "just use the specialist package", no, I play TDM only and because of the shorter length of matches/kill cap I find that specialist does not suite my playing style.

 

My suggestion is that air support has a 15 second immunity after entering the map. That really is not too long to hide in a building if you dont like being killed by air support.

 

Otherwise just remove assualt streaks altogether because it does not make sense that the support package is more effective than the assualt package which requires you to stay alive, which in this game is hard enough as it is since somebody just has to sneeze next to you and you are dead. There needs to be a balance, MW2 had OP air support while MW3's air support is to the point of piss poor because it cannot stay on the map, all I ask for is for the devs to find that balance!

    I couldn't agree more.

    I no longer use the Pavelow or anything above 7, due to it always getting shot down within seconds and getting absolutely no kills.

    It has the same airsupport power as MW2 did with the excpetion people have more reason to shoot them down now, airsupport is balanced. If you get 18 kills with your gun you get the chance to rack up x2 that amount with a high powered killstreak but it isn't guaranteed and thats how it should be.

    I don't think it's fair for people to die repeatedly by high pointstreaks, either.

    Wish I was in those games. I get raped by air support that lingers until it flies away. hardly anyone in my games has a launcher/ Sam turret. I always keep one class with launcher so i can quick kill myself and start shooting it down. Might just be playing against organized teams that shoot everything down. While on the topic of immmunity, how about a 2-second immunity upon spawn, so you can't get spawn-trapped or super-screwed after dying?

    Ive gotten way more kills from IMS and setry guns then anything, they will just shoiot that stuff down so switch your streaks up a bit. Also I never call in a chooper or reaper without a uav and making sure there isnt an enemy SAM on the map

    Um, no. Some people, like myself, want COD to be about gun on gun, not "hey lets camp for a pavelow and then let it get all my kills". The minute I hear of air support entering the map I shoot it down. You're already on a streak, you don't need something else to make it better. I follow the simple rule of running non-destructable killstreaks. Stealth Bomber, EMP, and alternate between Airdrop trap and Ballistics vest. AT and BV can be destroyed but they have less of a chnace than a Pavelow or Attack Heli.

    ok so question then... lets say i run and gun and i earn my attack heli in like 2 mins or less then my overwatch but i got the overwatch with gun kills also are you saying its fair for the guy who just got raped by my gun not to feel the consequences of my streaks just because its so easy to blow them up with one missile on the first try i mean uav i could care less if u shoot down i get it in two kills in a heartbeat but seriously a hard earned pav low or chopper should be harder to take down i mean seriously blind eye is a pain in the arse not only does it protect you but it allows you to shoot them down faster what kinda bull is that meanwhile the support users stupid stealth bomber is untouchable(not that i even get killed by it) its just not cool at all i played a game on arkaden where i pulled out the phone to call in my attack heli and in less time than it took me to ready my gun back up it was gone no kills by a rocket launcher... tell me how the heck thats fair i've thought about just switching streaks but why should i have to do that if there in the game it must have a purpose and i dont think it was to be shot down within seconds for someone else to receive xp  i love gun on gun kills its my fav way to play this game which is why i choose streaks that leave me mobile to cause more carnage but they are called air support not rocket fodder anyone rememebr when the chopper gunner for black ops became almost a complete waste just bcause it could be shot down before u even opened the door well thats how im feeling now i would ba happy if you gave airsupport 5 sec from the time its on the map to be untouchable

    even if they do something about this. there is blind eye pro. With 1 full m14 spray an attack heli is down. And like with 3 or 4 magazines to take down a pavelow
