Craptivision, step up and admit the games need dedicated.

There's a simple fix to all this. Spend a little of your billion's and buy some damn servers.

I know there is little hope of this happening treyarch has basically said that the next game will be p2p yet again.

i think treyarch/activision/infinity ward should spend a bit of money on the loyal fans of the series.

Dedicated servers for a game with as many players as CoD would cost way too much. The reason other games such as BF work is because there simply isn't as many people playing them.

By the way, dedis would not solve lag issues as lag exists there too. As long as there are internet connections involved games will be subject to lag, be it small hints of lag or huge spikes. No online game is lag free.

The only thing dedis COULD solve is host disconnects. Activision has little to no incentive to provide us with dedis as they don't justify the cost of setup and maintenance.

Get used to it, it is highly probably that console CoDs will never be played on dedis.

im not expecting dedis anytime soon. but i still think the loyal fans should have some form of money spent on them somehow. i mean free map packs for call of duty elite members is a good start.

You paid for Elite so they're not actually free lol

And no, Activision/IW/Treyarch/BH should not be forced to give their "loyal fans" anything. Fact of the matter is, they made a game, you bought it. It's playable and techinically if they really wanted to they could pull all support from it and move on to the next title, but they don't.

What's to be considered a "loyal fan" anyway. Surely it would have to be someone who's been playing CoD since the first one or at least CoD4. With how common it is for people to have multiple and/or switch live/psn accounts the number of "loyal fans" would be way too small to warrant a gift for them.

Fact of the matter is, there is money to be lost in dedis. Any extra they have to put in is money lost. The game runs fine for the majority and that's all they care about. Small tweaks to lag comp to the point where it's at MW2 or BOs level and the game is playable to just about everyone. CoD has thousands if not hundreds of thousands more players than BF does, dedis would cost a lot more to run on CoD games and we all know Activision love themselves some money.

Not to mention that because CoD titles are an annual thing it would be likely that dedis would stop being supported once a new CoD title came out.

By the way, Live members have been paying for subscriptions for years and we don't have dedis either. PS3 won't be getting them simply because they'll start paying eventually.

I don't understand this. Titles like MW3 and BF3 are almost endless online experiences and here you are saying BF3 is awesome to play, so why do you need another game? It isn't awesome then, is it?

having 10-12 consoles connecting to a computer with 10xs the computing power of all consoles involved will reduce lag greatly. i dont know how many games you have played online but there are tons that have what seems like no lag at all. dedicated server will never happen because activision does not want to cut into there bottom line at all. just the money from elite could buy and maintain dedicated server for the next 3 CODs.
