Specialist strike package for the noob

In COD MW3 there are 3 strike packages that can be earned through kill streaks. Assault strike package is the offensive, air support, aggressive style rewards, Support strike package is team orientated and provides your side with rewards that help everyone on your side, and Specialist strike package is a kill streak reward that is geared towards the individual player.
Today I would like to discuss the Specialist. The specialist strike package allows a player to unlock all perks and almost all proficiencies as well. One perk is unlocked per two kills (up to 3 perks), and the perks can be selected in the order in which the player would like to recieve them. After kill number 8, the player unlocks all perks and most proficiencies and bonus experience for all kills up until death when it resets. The Pro version unlocks what ever pro perk you have available.
A very immpressive package indeed, it is also a very selfish package. How many times have you played and noticed no one is calling uav's? How many times has the battlefield been eerily quite? It is because everyone is running the Specialist strike package. The Specialist strike package provides no air support, no defense, and no way to help other teamates impede the enemies advance.
However; Being a one man army has its place, and the Specialist can rain death and destruction down upon the enemy. Having perfect situational awareness, being faster, more accurate, quicker reloads, and using stealth can help a team out flank, out manuever, and simply destroy the enemy in any team match. The key is being aggressive. Being on the offensive, and helping your team to victory. After all, the Specialist bonus gives one that abaility to overcome and adapt. I have only on slot set up as the Specialst, and have heard several different ways to create your path. Here are some examples:
Perk 1: Sleight of hand, extreme conditioning, scavenger. (I use SOH here)
Perk 2: Quickdraw, assasin, or blast shield. (I use scavenger here)
Perk 3: Stalker, steady aim, dead silence, and possibly sit-rep. (I use quckdraw here)
Now it has been said that having Overkill as an initial perk gives you 2 primary weapons immediately as opposed to waiting to gain the "benefit" of receiving overkill using Specialist. Also, Hardline is an option by trading ease of getting to the 8 kills as opposed to having a 2nd primary weapon. What ever route you decide to take, it is best to select the initial perks and the 3 unlock perks that gives the most immediate combat advantages. I hope this provides some insight, and as allways, happy hunting!
Just a note about Overkill as a Specialist: you should only use Overkill if you set it as a tier 2 perk if you want two primary weapons. Otherwise, earning Overkill as a Specialist perk/bonus doesn't do you any good since you can't "select" your second primary weapon on the fly. Someone is bound to drop a primary weapon when you kill them. ![]()
Overall, good points about the specialist package. I typically start with SoH and then as my second pointstreak reward (@ 4 kills), I earn Scavenger. Typically don't need the bullets until around my fourth or fifth kill. My third pointstreak reward is usually Blast Shield, but sometimes I use Hardline or Quickdraw.
Hardline is great as the tier 2 perk when you use it as a way to earn the first specialist perk with 1 kill.
The other effective way to use Hardline in the Specialist package is to use it as your third pointstreak reward so that your seventh kill earns you the specialist bonus. That way you have three more useful perks earlier.

Hardline is actualy the worst perk to put as your 2nd perk when using specialist as it will take you 3 kills to get an advantage in perks over other people since the second perk slot is the most powerful selection of perks. You can use hardline but ill use assasssin, sneak up behind you, and stab you in the back thus ruining your streak.
I don't disagree that other tier 2 perks are as good or better, but Hardline Pro isn't worthless in that slot. Hardline Pro gives you a kill for every two assists. Those assist-kills help you get to the pointstreak rewards and ultimately the Specialist bonus, too. Those assist-kills work to the advantage for someone who often gets 4-6 assist per match.
For example, I tend to get at least 4 assists per match when I am hosting. I sometimes use Hardline Pro because:
1. Not all my shots register as hits, even when it appears that I shoot first
2. Therefore, I partner up with someone - or I die before I can get a kill
3. I often break even in K/D, and have the same number or more in assists
So, running Hardline Pro as the tier 2 perk works well when trying to run a Specialist package when hosting. Of course, that only works well when you are in a situation like mine. For example, in one match, I ran with Assassin Pro. I went 7-11-8. Never hit the bonus. In the next match, I ran with Hardline Pro. I went 18-8-7. Hit the bonus.
Well I don't know about you but when I use specialist I get the 8 kill bonus %80 of the time and the hardline thing isn't that handy. Lets say you get 6 assists a match thats only 3 points and they probably weren't earned in the same life. Also if you go 7-11-8 with assassin thats pretty pethetic and also what gun were you using?
U MAD BRO?? Hardline pro is a MUST for levelling up when using specialist. You get 450xp for your 1st kill/cap, then 450 for your 3rd and 5th, plus all the streak rewards you rack up etc, PLUS the 2 assists = 1 point streak towards your current run, and its HUGE for XP. Why use assassin on maps so small ? Your not hard to find anyway.
I am when I'm using an MK14 W/ suppressor and Rapid Fire and you don't get extra XP for using specialist.
No doughnut, the extra XP comes from earning your killstreaks after every 2 kills, so with hardline pro, you cap your 1st flag in dom and you get 150, plus the 300 for the killstreak unlock (coz its 1 point not 2 due to hardline), then you get another 450 for point 3, and another 450 for point 5, remember this can include caps, so if you cap the 1st 2 flags and pick up 3 kills on the way, its nearly 2000xp, plus when you get to 7 points its double xp for everything you do due to having the all perk unlock, so its massive xp. Rememeber, we all get loads of assists in MW3, and with hardline you get 1 killstreak point for 2 assists, it all adds up, PLUS if you do what I did and play team defender, you get DOUBLE everything when your team has the flag. Also, after prestige 1, you take your double xp token after level 22 when you unlock extreme conditioning, for the flag capping, or after level 39 when you unlock scavenger, and its double the double.....I prestiged in just under 12hrs play playing Team Defender only, and I did the 1st 8 prestiges in about 4 days play. The last 2 I did playing domination, and completed the 10 prestiges in just over 5.5 days play.
That is a truley remarkable accomplishment. Congrats!
Lancer, I'm normally much better. But when I host, my game is extremely laggy and I usually I get one or two hit markers with sounds and then I am dead. That's unless I'm teamed up with someone.
As I see it, I only worry about my KD in that it's positive. A positive KD in TDM is the best way I know how to help my team. In other modes, I don't care about my KD because only the objectives matter.
So, if I'm worried about helping out my team, then there's several ways to use a pointstreak package. If it's using the Specialist package to take out some of the more advanced players on the other team, great. If it's using the Assault package to constantly call in UAVs and place IMSes, fine. And if it's using the Support package to counter the enemy UAVs, call in an Advanced UAV, and then drop a stealth bomber on the enemy team, that works, too.
In the end, using Hardline Pro in TDM works well for my team because it turns my KD into a positive KD - when I host. Not arguing; just providing my point of view. ![]()
Hardline pro is a great perk for assault and the assist thing can come in handy with the support package but for specialist hardline isn't the best choice and beast no need to be a prick and why the f do you have 2 accounts?
Lancer, as long as you choose a 2nd tier perk as your first reward (Assassin, etc.) while using Hardline Pro, you will earn Assassin with only one kill, plus you have the advantage of earning your killstreaks faster, and having every two assists count as a kill can lead to earning a MOAB much faster. I earned a MOAB a couple days ago with only a 22 killstreak because I had five assists which counted as two kills while using Hardline Pro. I never use Hardline with Assault or Support because I find the other 2nd tier perks to be much more useful, but I always use Hardline Pro with Specialist because you can add another 2nd tier perk with only one kill, which is easy. So I have to say I respectfully disagree with you, sir.
Sir, this is 5 months old. HOW DID YOU FIND IT!
LOL, I was asking a question about the Strike Package on google and this is the first result that popped up. I guess I can ask you the question. What happens when you only choose one reward with your Specialist Strike Pacakge? Do you only earn one perk and then have to wait until you earn the Specialist All Perks Bonus to get the rest of the perks. I couldn't find an answer to my question though, so I will probably just have to try it out myself. I'm just curious.
And that's why when I use the Specialist Package, I have Hardline Pro as my 2nd Tier Perk, and Assassin Pro as my first unlocked perk.
Every strike package is broken in the hands of noobs, lol. They can't seem to use it correctly.
