    From everything I've seen so far this problem with the DLC is quite simple really, the main reason those with the DLC are having the most problems is because so few people were actually foolish enough to buy it.

     

    They also intentionally worked the system so the DLC would cause problems for those without DLC, problems which appear to be caused by everyone having bought the DLC, which is not true.

     

    Those with DLC can't find games and get error messages because the majority are playing without.

     

    The majority playing without is suddenly having incorrect information about # of available games, which was intentionally done to fool people into thinking most bought the DLC, and that buying DLC would fix the problem. (Which several people have already posted that they were foolish enough to buy DLC thinking it would fix it and it didn't)

     

    Someone on steam forums did the math, (using steam stats and #'s in game) and on the day of release it seems around 4% of the MW3 PC population bought the DLC. On the first night after DLC was released, at 8:00pm central standard time there were 9,000 players in MW3, and only 1500 were playing on the DLC playlists.    (Only 9000 players and 1500 in DLC on the first night after DLC release.... yeah this game is dying FAST)

     

    Activision / IW / Sledgehammer  got a few suckers and fools to fork over their money, mostly by trying to lie and scam us.  Too bad for them the majority isn't falling for their BS anymore. Their last hope to save face with the PC community was to give us the DLC for free and they ****ed up.

    perhaps you might also enlighten us then?or make someone make a statement of some sort.

    im very afraid the game is dying...

    I knew it! I knew they were purposely screwing with us on the number of games available!

     

    Based on those numbers it doesn't add up as to why it's displaying 4-6 games available, however, I always get into a game right away.

    2 days later and I still can not play because I bought the DLC, please my money, the product is defective and the manufacturers do not provide solutions. We should talk with the lawyer.

    The solution I posted above (rename 42695.sdm, dot not hit F1 in MW3) appears to still be working for me.  I've been getting into regular TDM without encountering that error and haven't seen a new map since.

     

    The change is in effect because when I try to play a video in my Vault that was recorded on one of the new maps it says I don't have the new maps in order to play it.  The F1 option still displays and the new game modes still also display in title screens, but I haven't clicked either of those.

    only works for you it seems, to me it does not work or anything, I can play a map or two (with lag most of the time) and then "Different files from server", or just when you start game, the same thing .

    Strange.

     

    It did stop working for me today, but I re-did the change and now it appears to be fixed again.  I just went into five games without a problem.  Perhaps I was just lucky.  I will post again if the fix seems to fail again.

     

    Here's what I did in total:

     

    - Renamed config_mp.cfg

    - Performed the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" in Steam

    - [Optional: copied and pasted a portion of the old config_mp.cfg into the new one it created so I could have my key bindings back, which are the first things in this file]

    - Renamed 42695.sdm

     

    When I got the original error again today, I did the verify again, it recreated 42695.sdm, and I renamed it again.  I have gone into several games without trouble so far and will keep you guys posted.

     

    If this works for anyone else please post.

    working for me: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2693088, but with lag in all servers.

    The fix I proposed above is tempermental.  It was working for me, now again it is now.  This is redic!

     

    I'm now trying the fix recommended by ACAB_Bilabao above.  It includes the change I had temporary success with and has additional edits.  Hope it works!
