Why are people playing objective games and not PTFO ?

What's the point?
What's PTFO? ![]()
if i was to take a wild guess i would say "playing the F**king Objective"
Well, I hope you know that in Domination, when you have two objectives locked down, "Protecting the Fu*&ing Objective" is a legit strategy too. Come on man, use your brains. If you can stop there charge while you're teamates break through to Dominate them another direction, then....YOU WIN! It's called playing defense. You need a mixture of both to have a solid team.
Ok. BUT. players that prevent teams from flanking by taking up position and killing them as they come around are very helpful because it removes defenders from there flag, so you're running team mates can capture more easily. I think you are just taking examples of none balanced team's and applying it to everyone IMO. That's not an accurate way of looking at it.
Just my observation....
Then it really comes down to what kind of playstyle your teammates have and how divers it is. For instance, if you have a good mix, then each playstyle's strengths will over shadow the other playstyles weakness. It's really just about being on a well balanced team. I've been on many lop-sided teams and yes, it does suck but nothing is perfect! If your teammates refuse to do what is needed to win, you are kind of up a creek without a paddle.
Yeah that's a good team though...
I'm guessing this is about what I'm noticing. Like in Kill Confirmed when people sit in corners to catch people walking past.... and never get the tags.
Or in Demolition when people just sit in spawns to try and get kills but never actually plant or defend the bomb.
Or CTF where everyone just sits around their flag and never moves so it ends in a draw or they lose.
You get the idea?
It's what your dad didn't do
Pull the f*** out!
Some people like to kill..... a lot! thats the game for them and I could be wrong because I only play KC but I think strangely the objective modes are where you can get the most kills in a round.
I however love the ping of tags and as long as their not boosting/cheating who gives a crap what they do it's just a game after all. If it bothers you that much there's lots of clans looking at the moment but if you choose to play with rando's it's the chance you take.
He works at McDonalds, PTFO -- Pull The Fries Out. LOL
bollox....did i burn them again?
I will often go negative KD on objective modes just to make sure we get the objective and win the match. So do a lot fo the people we play with... then we laugh at the people in the lobby who lost but have a great KD. We get this alot in Domination matches. I don't understand it - if they want to protect their KD, they can go play HC TDM or KC and camp till their butts go numb, but they are LOOSING the match for their teams.
I think that's a major consideration - the word "team".
It's been an epidemic from the start...... and ohhh how I love those YouTube videos of people getting a MOAB, while completely ignoring the objective...
It is easier to get positive stats camping in objective games rather then playing tdm or ffa. So instead of helping the team by sitting on the hq or running the flag/bomb and taking a couple of deaths, they hang out somewhere out of the way with blindeye pro and silenced weapons (or noobtubes) and have 'awesome' games. I would say boring myself....
The funny thing is if you do PTFO it is not difficult to still rack up kills have a decent KDR. I think the MOAB has a lot to do with the ignoring of the objectives since it is easier to avoid dying. Someone who goes say 40/23 with 3 plus caps a bunch of defends and well over 3600 points is way more valuble to me than the guy who goes 25/0 gets Moab scores 2000ish points which would mean 0 to 1 cap with maybe a defend or 2.
Drop zone is the worst as far as people not playing the objective. I like drop zone b/c of the non stop action. But I hate taking a loss and having "team mates" that go 40-6 or 50-8 and end up at the bottom of the scoreboard...
Drop Zone players are strange. Some players have a really good system for getting to the drop zone and controlling it. Then some players are good at protecting the drop zone while their teammates hold it.
Then you have those players who are nowhere near the drop zone just raking up easy kills and taking very few deaths. They just pick people off as they go from one drop zone to the next.
Don't play the Objective and drop MOABS for days! Distracted players are the easiest targets.
getting kills is the only reason i play Dom easy to raise your k/d get kill streaks etc
Pretty simple answer here, some people are just stupid. They think every mode is TDM.
If they're protecting the objective then playing for kills isn't a big deal, but they damn well better protect it and not give it up.
Playing the objective is great, but only one person can carry the flag. Map control in CTF is important, and that means getting kills to push the enemy back.
Overall, the most important thing in objective based games is situational awareness. Knowing when it's time to kill and when it's time to cap. If I'm camping an objective and actively defending it but we're losing, I put my track shoes on
Agree here, when i play with my clan we are hyper aggresive from the start to control the points we want sometimes 2 sometimes all 3 depending on the map. Once we put a huge lead up often we often have to turn into hunters because the other guys have given up and just camp in thier own spawns to protect thier kdr. Each of us has a standard role, i am the mad capper we have a defender or 2 plus a roamer who patrols choke points and our flanks if we are capping. Depending on situation and where everyone is in relation to a certain flag we swap roles. This is why mics are so handy. It is scary how easy it is to just destroy a team by working well together and controlling the sections of the map you want. 200 to 0 is our best win with tons of 180 to 160 point wins, but i really enjoy going up against a good squad and squeaking out a win much more than the slaughterfest.
Domination is a game where you have to play with your friends. It's just impossible to win otherwise
In mercenary it is almost doable running solo, but playing in the domination lobby ya you need at least 3 guys to win on a regular basis.
That's why I like playing with friends. They play the objective and we can win while going positive.
You want the answer to that question?
Easy.
Just watch the film 'White Men Can't Jump' (assuming you're old enough of course!) and wait for the line that says:
"You'd rather look good and lose then look bad and win."
Nobody wants to work and win these days... everybody wants to be famous.
This doesnt just apply to CoD either.
im glad jkl, that dom is in the mix, bcuz theres actually alot of people who are frustrated as i am with people running amuk in dom games!)
How about a new game Mode? Call it "Life and Death", and have it consist of 10-15 minutes of kill-whore action. No objective, no cap on Team Kills, just the glory of try-harding for the full countdown of the game's timer. I realise it would fracture the base more, but sure would be nice to play some of those objective-based games without kill-whores camping in the most annoying corners, not guarding or capping things.
Better yet, call the game mode "Try Hard."
Most of the time my team is far more concerned with seeing how hard they can spawntrap the enemy team and less about enjoying the game.
