It came up intermittently in the past like that for me, but it has been bad since the recent patch last week. Have also experienced being booted from matches with connection lost messages and with getting a party to stay together when searching for games. This is with decent internet.
My uneducated guess is that they are tightening up the tolerences so that any missed packets cause you to get the boot. That would mean that if you have any other traffic on your local router, you may not be able to update your profile. That would also explain the boot from games and keeping a party together.
Just my theory.
