youtube's influence on the cod series

what do people think about the effect youtube has had on cod over the past few games good or bad ?

for me i think youtube has ruined cod in a way i dont mind people showing off there skills in a game but its the people who mess around doing trick shots trying to get that one amazing kill for there latest youtube montage while the rest of there team loses the match.

i havent made this thread to bad mouth snipers or anyone who makes videos i just want to hear peoples thoughts.

thanks

Definately bad, it created the "trickshot" wannabe montage stars, it also made it easier to show glitches and hacks, although youtube also helps get rid of them quicker since Activision goes through all vids on there.

Re: youtube's influence on the cod series

I can't stand about 99% of the youtube stuff that come sout.

This is where i think youtube ruined cod as you said is watching some muppet pull off a leet 360 noscope bank shot wallbang and making that sort of crap popular hence we get lumbered with whiney brats demanding quickscoping.

montages bore me senseless for the most part they are usually over eddited with crap music ...commentators dont even get me started bar a very select few who actually make points worth listening too the rest are just ego epeening muppets who are only doing it for the subs/dollar rewards.

theres so much good stuff that gets missed by these things rubevids beauty of cod series for example.. where someone has taken the time to actually use the tools given to make something worthwhile.

What I find particularly irritating is the fact that the spread of misinforation and disinformation is so rampant on that service.

I agree on all points made. Lets not forget the spread of the exploits, hacks, glitches. I cannot understand why ACTI/IW/3ARCH. Continiue to allow the videos to continue runninh that show these problems. Can they not have them removed? The circle jerks that put out the Hope Scoping bumtages are the reason they keep putting these foolish aspects back into CoD. Knowing full well that the the majority of the community could deal without have the Hope Scoping crap.

It seems as if the older gamers are phased out that just want their old game back, to make way for the GTA of Duty.

People still saying Quickscoping is broken? I dont Quick Scope myself but yeah it made people 360 scope but how does it matter what they do when they do it? If anything it gives you more of a chance of killing them. >.>

The game would be better without the morons on there.

Re: youtube's influence on the cod series

I don't know why people do all this quickscoping, no scope 360, trickshot whatever that crap is.

Im actually fine with quickscoping but all these other stunts are just ridiculous. I wish people who used sniper rifles actually do sniping. or quickscoping if they want to camp less.

Not going around showing off and not working with your team. Its a flaw in COD and people on youtube have glamorized it with the wannabe montages.

youtube is the worst thing for every game. All u see on youtube is how u do glitches and what "amazing" skill u have with quickscoping and noobtubing and crap like that. But seems to be a big part of cod sadly

Honestley...Quickscoping Doesent Ruin the game its for people who dont care if they lose or win... for people who want to play the game in more fun and unique ways rather than tryharding the whole time droppshotting and stuff. Youtube doesent have anything to do with ruining the game. No offense but whats ruining the game are people like you who complain about this stuff. Just dont watch the youtube videos? Treyarch and Activision and InfinityWard didnt intend for there games to have people fight over stuff. They make the games as a way for people to have fun.

And Quickscoping takes more skill than hiding in a corner with an AK74 with flak jacket so you can get you killstreaks easily. And You people know when you see those trickshots you go "Ohhhhh!" with the other people because trickshots are fun to do

Re: youtube's influence on the cod series

You seen that youtube video? He posted it trying to show that Quickscoping is op but you can clearly see hes using th AK74u and hes still getting worked.Only the new people and guys who suck complain about QS. Very easy to avoid it. All  you have to do is move back and forward when you fire your gun making you a harder target. Thats why Smgs are superior to ARs because of the mobility rate.

Youtube, parts of it are good others bad. I think youtube can really help gaming by getting ideals out, some good others bad. And then it instantly flips to things like the trickshoters, making the little children round the world want to be like zzirgrizz making them try for stupid shots that ruin games when they are last alive in snd, I always get one of these guys who lose the game for us when we are 3-3 and it is 1v1...reason i don't play serch without a party.

    Youtube is OP.

It's hard to find good video's about cod games. Most are trickshots/qs vids or people complaining.

Youtube has changed a lot over the last year or so IMO. Are trickshot/quickscoping montages really that popular these days? I'd say most of the content is now commentaries over full matches...

There are some gameplay commentaries. They are more looked over for good tutorials for the crap that is put on.

I understand what you are saying. I'm just stating that alot of the crap you get to see is "I threw a tommy over the building" " I 360d, took a dump, didnt wipe, no scoped THEN landed". Youtube could be much and was much better than what it is. Now you have the theater moving in on CoD and enabling this type of ignorant crap.

correction the most successful if you talking in terms of subs ect are basically doing it to make money , they jump on whatever bandwagon is topic of the day and make a pointless video basically reitterating what others have already said,

the best "commentators" imo are those guys or gals who do it for the love of a game, and have a few 100 subs at best.

i wont name names but the "big" yt peeps have for the most part become parodies of themselves and beleive their own level of inflated self worth

True, I can't stand most of the popular youtubers for exactly the same reason. The moment the ones I do enjoy watching start begging for likes/favorites etc is the moment I stop watching them.

There's still some big names that aren't sell outs though. Got a lot of respect for xcal for example, he's been putting up videos constantly for over 3 years now... Also would SandyRavage make much from his videos? Most of them seem to contain copyrighted music.

It hasn't ruined it but COD has certainly spent a lot of and effort catering to it.

Nothing will change really until COD2014... when I think it will be teh center piece game for the next generation XBOX.

Agreed, going off topic here, but did anyone see the "bonus" in the Film Real Steel's trailer? If you watch closely you can see the billboards are promoting the "xbox 720" lol, a teaser from Micrsoft? or just a little fun note the makers put in? You decide!

That was hilarious haha. I think youtube has actually helped CoD gain popularity, at least for me because thats how I first found out about COD4. I really dont care about QSers because im not really a tryhard at COD I play it for enjoyment. Sure i go for objectives because I play Dom but if the other player can 360 wall bang no scope me then more power to you, but I dont rage about it.
