On this day one year ago, Call of Duty released its first-ever standalone free-to-play, free-for-everyone, cross-platform massive combat experience known as Warzone.

As tensions continue to escalate throughout Verdansk, we want to extend our thanks to you for the moments you helped make possible over the past year. During that time, you were an instrumental part of some of its most exciting moments, ones that we are looking back on for this historic date in Call of Duty history.

But first, here’s how you can share what you personally accomplished this past year in Warzone:

Presenting Your #WarzoneReport

Going live now at @Call of Duty on Twitter, you can get a personalized #WarzoneReport showcasing your latest statistics from your combat record in Warzone, allowing you to compare yourself to fellow community members and maybe bring home some bragging rights among your friends. Think of this as a verified way to show off your stats on the Leaderboard to the world.

Simply check @Call of Duty for the Tweet, reply to @CallofDuty with your gamertag and the hashtag #WarzoneReport to get a personal look at your Kills, Deaths, K/D Ratio, Hours Played, Games Played, and Wins over the past year.

Warzone’s First Year – The Highlights

It all began with Season Three of Modern Warfare®, where Infinity Ward and Raven Software introduced us to Verdansk. The largest map ever seen in Call of Duty® allowed the community to use the full roster of Operators and weapons from Modern Warfare to fight for victory in a Battle Royale, or grab the most in-game cash in Plunder.

Season Four then reinforced Warzone by way of Captain Price as a playable Operator and three new weapons, along with the limited-time, 200-player Battle Royale that packed Verdansk from the Dam to the Gulag. This all set the bar for what future seasons of content would look like, from simultaneous releases of Battle Pass items between games to limited-time modes that shook up the traditional Battle Royale formula.

Then came Season Five – here, Verdansk saw its first major expansion thanks to an elite force known as the Shadow Company. Led by Lerch, this new faction blew the doors (and the roof) of Verdansk Stadium wide open with an explosive entrance, granting us a massive new point of interest to explore in addition to the Train Station’s interior and a freight train carrying high-value loadout items around the map’s western half.

As the community continued to settle into Verdansk and explore these new points of interest, something else was stirring behind the scenes: the global reveal of the next Call of Duty game that would take place entirely within Warzone.

On August 26, community members updated their game only to see one playlist: “Know Your History.” Here, Treyarch introduced us to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War through an intricate operation across Verdansk, ultimately resulting in an aerial barrage near the Stadium and the world premiere of the game’s Reveal Trailer.

Before Black Ops Cold War’s release, another major event came to Warzone during Season Six: The Haunting of Verdansk. With the help of two blockbuster horror movie icons, Verdansk became the ultimate haunt for the Halloween season, as Operators could infiltrate the city at night, turn into the undead, and scavenge for Trick-or-Treat Supply Caches, which revealed either some terrific items or a terrifying scare.

Black Ops Cold War and Warzone – Rebirth and Reckoning

Following Black Ops Cold War, developed by Treyarch and Raven, Warzone saw another massive expansion by way of its Operator pool with over a dozen additional Operators at launch, and all the game’s weapons during Season One. This first season for Black Ops Cold War also introduced a new fast-paced experience known as Rebirth Island, where squads can drop back into frenetic fights thanks to Resurgence rules.

And now, during Warzone’s one-year anniversary, we find ourselves in Season Two, where Verdansk is primed for a reckoning.

A cursed vessel known as the Vodianoy crash-landed and spilled its otherworldly cargo out into the city, with Operators desperately attempting to contain this new threat within the ship’s hull.

It seems that after a year of smooth sailing, Warzone may have to prepare for a threat never before seen in Verdansk, and any Operators who wish to survive might need to save the celebration for another time and get back in the fight before it’s too late.

Once again, thanks to you, the community, for being with us for the past year of Warzone. With Season Two’s story continuing through the game’s one-year milestone, we cannot wait to share with you what’s in store for the year to come… but it’ll be better for you to experience it for yourself.

Execute the mission.
