Whether you just met Major Howard for the first time five minutes ago or the General’s complimenting you on reaching Master Prestige, one thing unites the entire Call of Duty: WWII community – we could all use some more XP. Fortunately, you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to getting some: Contracts and Orders reward you with it, boosts come in Supply Drops and dedicated playlists reward players with 2XP. But, did you know about all the Challenges?
Under the Soldier tab, you’ll find a menu labeled Dossier and, in that menu, you’ll find Challenges. These are in-game objectives that reward you with XP and, sometimes, a Calling Card. There are, literally, hundreds of these things. You’ve no doubt achieved at least a few of them simply by going about your day-to-day Multiplayer life. Then, you have the weird ones. The Challenges that make you wonder where such a specific achievement came from. That’s what we’re getting into today. The list is long, but we’ll start with five.
A quick reminder: some of these are tiered, so – depending on where you are in your progress towards each Challenge – the descriptions below may be different than what you see in the game. That just means you’ll get smaller XP bonuses as you complete each tier on your way to completing the final Challenge detailed below.
Sticky Bomber – Kill an Enemy By Sticking Them With An Explosive 25 Times for 1500 XP
When someone throws a Sticky Grenade that lands on you, you get a reward called ‘Pincushion’ just for getting owned in such a cool way. However, if you’re the one throwing, then you just got one kill closer to the Sticky Bomber Challenge. Obviously, hitting enemies with a grenade isn’t easy. You aren’t likely to complete this in a couple games. It is one of those things that you can keep in mind while you’re going about your regular MP business. Replace Frags with Stickys on all of your loadouts, for starters. Then, just be on the lookout for opportunities. See somebody lying prone on a Domination point who doesn’t see you? Don’t stab ‘em. Stick ‘em. You only have to do it 25 times and every single one will feel incredibly rewarding. These are the best aspects of the Humiliation category of Challenges: XP bonuses and emotionally cathartic online owns.
Smooth Operator – Get 50 kills while using Quickdraw, Grip & Extended Mag for 1500 XP
Listen, we did say these would be very specific. And, to be honest, this is easily achievable for even a novice player. This one is under the Combat Handling section of Challenges, which is only unlocked once you Prestige. This entirely new category of Challenges is exactly why it’s easier to reach Rank 55 after you’ve Prestiged. So, do it and collect an easy 1500 XP. Here’s how you’ll do it.
This combination of attachments lends itself to two specific loadouts and they both involve LMGs. The first is running with the Infantry Division. They get a third attachment at Level II so, you won’t have to use Primed Basic Training for it. With Extended Mag on an LMG, you probably won’t have to reload more than once and you’ll have plenty of range. The other is Airborne with the Primed Basic Training. This uses up your Basic Training slot, but you’ll move around much faster. Didn’t think you could run-n-gun with an LMG? Try the Airborne with Primed and you’ll surprise yourself.
Return To Sender – Kill a Player With A Thrown Back Grenade 30 Times for 1500 XP
This one’s a Challenge from the Precision section. These reward players who show off in extremely, wait for it, precise ways. If you play any objective game mode, you’ll be on the wrong end of quite a few grenades. It’s just the way the world works. So long as the sun rises in the east, people will spam an objective point to keep from losing it. Fortunately for you, not everybody cooks their grenades before they throw them. This is how you’re gonna get that Return to Sender Challenge and 1500 XP bonus. A good way to knock this thing out a bit quicker is rolling with the Hunker Basic Training. This resets the fuse on frag grenades when you throw them back. Enemies will wonder what kind of wizardry extended that fuse as they’re watching you toss their own grenade back at them in the killcam. Don’t worry, Hunker can be our little secret. As much as any available Basic Training can be kept a secret, anyways.
Backfire – Kill an enemy with their own weapon 25 times for 1500 XP

Gunner – Get 25 hip-fire kills while using Steady Aim, Extended Mag & Rapid Fire for 2000 XP
This one’s another Combat Handling Challenge to give you a boost en route to your second Prestige. If you like to run around, this one should be both easy and fun. Steady Aim focuses your hip-fire, making you more accurate without aiming. So, the weapon class of choice for this seems obvious: SMGs. If you’re already rolling with one of these, you won’t have to do anything different. Just throw on these attachments and, when you encounter an enemy up close, don’t aim down the sights (ADS) – just shoot. Whether you’re a PPSh-41 player, a Sten star or a Waffe 28 wunderkind, you should breeze past 25 non-ADS kills easily. Enjoy that 2000 XP, don’t spend it all in one place.
These Challenges are just an itty-bitty taste of the enormous catalogue of available XP bonuses just waiting to be unlocked. Some of them are a bit more difficult than these, but keeping them in mind will hasten your race to Prestige enough for you to really notice a difference. And, if you get any great sticky kills, upload them with #CODTopPlays for a chance to be featured on our social channels.
