6 Star
// MULTIPLAYER MAPS // CORE
Get your bearings. Though only a midsized map, 6 Star packs a huge variety of engagements in a small space. Like a guest to a new hotel, explore the entirety of the map before getting too attached to a handful of preferred areas. Understand its myriad interconnected pathways to better anticipate the next attack.
Bartender’s advantage: Instead of sidling up to the bar in the Club, get behind it. Its curved front offers a great defense against enemies coming in from the Infinity Pool, and the partial cover along its sides can be used when covering the north and south entrances.
Tactical ventilation: Don’t miss the vent connecting the Aquarium to the Oasis Lounge. There’s even standing room on the Lounge side so you don’t have to sacrifice mobility while ambushing passing enemies. Note the Catwalk shortcut connecting the southern Garden and Security, too.
Tactical Overview
In team-based modes, squads will either spawn in the Elevator Lobby (north) or the Garden (south).
Every direction between the two spawns leads to skyrise living at its most luxurious, including access to the Infinity Pool, central Club, and Skybridge offering breathtaking views of the surrounding city.
We’ve divided 6 Star into five sections based on key areas around the map:
- MAIN SPAWN POINT: Elevator Lobby (+ Rooftop Bar, Lightwell)
- MAIN SPAWN POINT: Garden (+ Helicopter Lounge, Security, Pump Room)
- ADDITIONAL AREA: Club (+ Balcony, Aquarium, Vents)
- ADDITIONAL AREA: Skybridge (+ Services)
- ADDITIONAL AREA: Infinity Pool (+ Lounge)
MAIN SPAWN POINT: Elevator Lobby (NORTH)
Sunlight illuminates a sculpture at the concierge desk, and a gold-hued stage atop a circular fountain promises live music for guests. The Lobby is open, and the front desk offers the best cover option near the elevators. For a more aggressive posture and elevated view of the area, climb up to the base of the statue.
Head east to reach the Rooftop Bar near the Infinity Pool. The bar’s counter offers a strong cover point in this otherwise open area; Operators with midranged weapons may want to utilize the nearby overwatch position that looks toward the back of the poolside bar.
Head into the Lightwell from the Elevator Lobby, which branches off to the Rooftop Bar or the center Club. Though you can’t climb onto the statue’s base, it’s wide enough to conceal an enemy on the other side; approach with caution.
To reach the western Skybridge, take the path winding past the elevated stage. Don’t get caught off guard admiring the view from the windows on your way.
MAIN SPAWN POINT: Garden (SOUTH)
Descending onto the map via helicopter is no less elegant than taking the front Lobby. Look south over the railings for a sweeping view of the city. The area’s open-air layout is deceptive — danger waits at every turn through multiple branching paths.
Stick to the outside by taking the path toward the Infinity Pool. Note the Pump Room that drops into the Oasis Lounge below, offering a good ambush point and a shortcut to the pool. Use the available sculptures and other cover objects throughout as needed.
Take the middle path to head inside the Aquarium; get a view over the Club from the overlook here or move up directly into the main room.
When heading toward the Skybridge, watch for activity in the Helicopter Lounge at the base of the helipador equip a Shotgun or some other close-ranged powerhouse and eliminate enemies passing through the area. For a stealthier approach into the building, drop onto the Catwalk that wraps around the back of the helipad and then climb up into Security on the other side.
ADDITIONAL AREA: Club
The wraparound Bar dominates the Club’s center, its counter like a barricade for Operators within. The ground floor circling the Bar crosses four openings, one on each side, so that players from all areas can easily funnel into the action. When tasked with defending this hot zone, the sound stage and Balcony offer major advantages; use them for an angled view over the room.
The Aquarium is ripe for close-ranged slugfests, with the drink cart and Balcony offering good midranged positions when covering the Club. Watch the stairway for enemies moving in from the outer Garden and note the ventilation shaft that leads to the poolside Lounge, a good shortcut to keep in mind when moving through the area.
ADDITIONAL AREA: Skybridge
Sunlight beams cover the golden statue here, resembling swimming fish rising toward the massive skylights. The statue and its base offer the most reliable cover when crossing the center section of the Skybridge; this is of notable use when engaging enemies in Security.
Because the center is raised, you have some ability to conceal your movements when approaching the statue. A drink cart on the Lobby side offers good midranged cover, too, and the high walls by Security lend a safe place to fall back to when you need to reload or recover.
If you’d rather avoid the Skybridge, drop into the Services walkway to the west. Use this hidden pathway to ambush enemies focused on the statue.
Security is a bare two-level area connecting the Skybridge to the outer heliport. There’s little cover within, so be ready to fight if you cross paths with an enemy Operator. Its two most notable points are the upper window overlooking the Skybridge and the rear window giving access to the valuable Catwalk shortcut.
ADDITIONAL AREA: Infinity Pool
The breathtaking Infinity Pool offers sweeping views for long-range attacks. The pool is also punctuated by the circular Lounge and poolside bar, offering a haven for closer attacks. The pool is deep enough to swim under its surface, though use the center planter for cover, as the clear water can make you an easy target if you’re not careful.
Daring Operators can run along the pool’s outer edge for a faster crossing than swimming. Watch your step, though — it’s a long drop if you miscalculate your movements.
Top 10 Tips
1. Center cover: The Balcony and sound stage offer incredible opposing power positions over the Club. Use these spots to lock down control over the center and force enemy players to take the long way toward their objective.
2. Streak roll. Toggle on Scorestreaks and equip the Mission Control Comlink Gear piece to reduce their cost. Combine it with the Demolition Vest — or better yet, the Modular Assault Rig arriving in Season 3 — to replenish your equipment, a prime source for generating score toward your next streak.
3. Set and forget. The 6 Star map is full of good spots for the Remote Turret streak, from the Balcony and sound stage in the Club to the overwatch by the Rooftop Bar and the upper bridge-facing window in Security. Stay nearby to protect it from up close or use it to set up a crossfire over a high-traffic area.
4. Poolside service. Equip the Breacher Drone for long-ranged explosive attacks across the Infinity Pool, the Skybridge, and even within the Club. The number of midranged sightlines available provide this Lethal with many opportunities to shine.
5. Move smarter, not harder. Optimize your movements and ambush potential by utilizing the several key shortcuts on 6 Star. Pivot through the Vent connecting the Aquarium and Oasis Lounge; pounce over the Catwalk behind the Helicopter Lounge; and drop into the westernmost Services path to avoid the dangerous Skybridge crossing.
6. In the heat of it. When you need to dislodge a troublesome sharpshooter firing from Security, try climbing up the base of the Skybridge statue and going prone so you can peek between the space in the bottom fish. It offers a view of the window and the lower door while making you a more difficult target; in exchange, you’re highly exposed to attacks from the side and behind.
7. Save your spot. If you’re slaying in the Elevator Lobby or dropping enemies across the Skybridge, there’s no reason to give up your dominant position. Equip the Tactical Insertion Field Upgrade to mark the location for your next spawn in these situations. Drop it somewhere out of sight if possible.
8. Boost your comms. Consider the CCT Comms Vest to zoom out your radar and increase the duration that revealed enemies will be displayed. Plus, the intel packs that eliminated enemies drop will generate an additional radar ping on pickup. These advantages vastly improve your ability to track enemy movement and determine the optimal path forward.
9. Support your team. This map gives ample room to take a step back and focus on removing enemy aerial streaks, using a Launcher or a powerful Primary Weapon. Whether you’re targeting a UAV or a chopper, downing streaks is a vital means of slowing down the enemy’s momentum.
10. Property damage. The map’s thick walls force Operators to chase after targets who take cover. Use this to your advantage and set C4 traps near paths you’ve retreated behind. Detonate the explosive when they turn the corner, then get back into position.
