// TRAINING // WARZONE MOBILE: HOW TO PLAY

Gear up: You'll begin your Battle Royale and Resurgence matches with just a pistol in hand. Seek out ground loot, Cash, Supply Boxes, and Contracts to gear up fast and improve your chances of success.

More money, fewer problems: As in life, having loads of Cash on hand makes getting the things you need a whole lot easier. In-game Cash gives you the ability to purchase a Loadout, redeploy a fallen squadmate, acquire valuable items and Killstreaks, and more.

Know your role: Whether in a squad or playing solo, it’s vital to understand the strengths and weaknesses of your equipped weapons and gear. Pick your fights carefully, no matter how skilled you are. Don't take an SMG into long-ranged engagements and put that Sniper Rifle away when moving through confined quarters.

Getting Started: Battle Royale and Resurgence

Ready to get started? Before we jump into the details of building your Loadout or fine-tuning your settings, let’s go over the different modes you’ll be playing in Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.

Battle Royale: The original Call of Duty®: Warzone™ experience. Deploy and fight to be the last Operator or squad left standing. Battle Royale takes place on Verdansk. You can also choose Mobile Royale, which is the same type of game mode but with a faster pace due to the shorter circle time.

Resurgence: The win condition remains the same — be the last Operator or squad left in the match — but in Resurgence you can redeploy back into the match after a cooldown timer completes as long as someone in your squad is still alive. This ability to redeploy for free lasts until the Resurgence Timer is up, after which fallen Operators cannot be revived.

Resurgence takes place on Rebirth Island. The smaller map size compared to Verdansk makes for intense battles in this mode.

Plus, Multiplayer: While not the focus of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, Multiplayer is supported as a means to help warm up for your next Battle Royale deployment and level up your weapons, and for those times when you only have a few moments to jump in and play.

Multiplayer gives access to a variety of classic Call of Duty maps and modes, including but not limited to Shipment, Shoot House, and Scrapyard. Engage in fan-favorite modes like Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Search & Destroy.

Note that not all modes will be available to play when first loading the game. More modes will unlock as you progress through matches, so get to playing and you’ll soon have access to everything.

The Maps: Verdansk, Rebirth Island

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile features two big maps at launch: Verdansk and Rebirth Island.

Verdansk (Battle Royale, 120 players)

Return to the map where it all started in Call of Duty: Warzone. This metropolis features a huge environment to explore with match support for up to 120 players.

Rebirth Island (Resurgence, 48 players)

The smaller layout of Rebirth Island intensifies the action. Battle within the central prison complex or stick to the island’s perimeter. Matches here use Resurgence rules, so players can redeploy into the match if at least one teammate is still alive.

The Gas

As the match progresses in Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, the map will continuously force players into a smaller and smaller battle arena by way of the enclosing gas. You can survive in the gas for a short amount of time, and even longer if you have a Gas Mask, but eventually you will need to leave the poisonous cloud or fall to its effects.

The Gulag

Survival is the key to victory, but know that getting eliminated for the first time when playing on Verdansk doesn’t necessarily mean you’re out for the match. The first time you’re taken out, you’ll have the chance to earn your way back into the match via the Gulag. Every player gets this opportunity until the Gulag closes late in the match.

The Gulag is a 1v1 face-off with someone else who was recently eliminated. Both players are dropped into a room with cover obstacles and a simple, identical Loadout. Eliminate the enemy to be automatically redeployed back into the fight.

Gearing Up (Loot and Contracts)

Improving your weapons and gear and amassing Cash will help ensure victory. Opening Supply Boxes and completing Contracts are two of the best ways to accomplish this.

Supply Boxes

Each map contains a large variety of Supply Boxes that contain different kinds of loot. Emitting a unique sound, Supply Boxes are primarily located inside buildings and other more secure locations. Upon opening a Supply Box, a handful of items will pop out, which can include weapons, ammo, Killstreaks, Gas Masks, and Cash.

Contracts

Completing Contracts is your best source for increasing Cash flow. Start a Contract by interacting with physical laptops located around the map. These are displayed as various icons, depending on the Contract type when looking at your Tac Map. Ping it on the map to get it to show up on your HUD so you can locate the Contract without repeatedly checking back.

There are a variety of Contracts available, including Bounty Contracts, where you’re assigned a target enemy Operator to eliminate; Scavenger Contracts, which point you to subsequent Supply Boxes — find them all for a chance at earning rare loot; and Recon Contracts, which require your squad to remain within a small radius as you upload data. Complete these and other Contract types for big reward payouts that will be vital to your survival as the match progresses.

Buy Stations

Full up on Cash and dying to spend it on something useful? Buy Stations are where you’ll spend your hard-earned Cash. There are multiple Buy Stations located around each map. Indicated by the Shopping Cart icon on the map, Buy Stations give you the opportunity to purchase Armor Plates, Killstreaks, Loadout weapons, Perks, and more.

Redeploying Teammates

If a teammate has been eliminated and already used up their Gulag redeployment — or if they failed to win their Gulag match — there is still a chance to bring them back by purchasing a redeployment from a Buy Station. This only applies to one eliminated teammate per purchase, and it’s not cheap. This is another reason why seeking out Cash throughout the match is so important.

Tip: When a player is redeployed, the Buy Station where the redeployment was purchased will launch a green flare, visible to anyone in visual range as an indicator that an Operator is about to redeploy into the match.

LOADOUTS

If you’ve played Call of Duty Multiplayer, you’re already familiar with the idea of a Loadout. In Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, they work a bit differently, including how they’re set up and how to equip them.

Before loading into a match, select the “Weapons” tab at the top of your screen to set up custom Loadouts. It’s recommended to create a variety of Loadouts for different situations. You might prefer a long-ranged weapon earlier in the match to compete across vast distances, though later in the match as the gas closes in, a closer-ranged weapon may be the better choice. Or you may prefer a more versatile Loadout that performs well in a variety of situations so that you only need to purchase your Loadout once.

Every Loadout consists of the following:

  • Primary and Secondary Weapon
  • Tactical and Lethal Equipment
  • Perk Package

Primary and Secondary Weapons: Pick from a large variety of armaments across different weapon classes and their corresponding attachments.

Tacticals: Stun Grenade, Battle Rage, Smoke Grenade, Scatter Mine, Decoy Grenade, Flash Grenade, Snapshot Grenade, Shock Stick, Stim, Experimental Gas, and EMD Grenade.

Lethals: Proximity Mine, Drill Charge, Molotov Cocktail, Semtex, C4, Throwing Star, Breacher Drone, Frag Grenade, Claymore, Throwing Knife, Thermite, and Thermobaric Grenade.

Perk Packages

Select or customize a group of Perk Packages, providing special abilities that improve your Operator’s ability to inflict damage, move more swiftly through the map, gather intel, defend against attacks, and an assortment of other bonuses. Perks at launch include:

Vehicles

The maps in Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile are large environments, especially Verdansk. You’ll need a vehicle if you want to get from point to point more quickly than your feet can carry you. There are a variety of vehicles available based on your needs, from light and speedy ones like the UTV to more heavily armored but slower moving options like the LTV.

Check your Tac Map to view where vehicles are located in the environment. If the vehicle appears red, that means an enemy is driving it. Get out of sight or prepare to fight back.
