Level Up
Prebrief
Your gear defines you, dictating your Operator’s strengths and weaknesses in different situations. A demolition-heavy SMG Loadout might dominate when breaching the Hardpoint, while a sniper with anti-air support will feel more at home in the open near extended sight lines. And there are many more possibilities than these.
The Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Open Beta features a huge array of Loadout content to experiment with as you level up. With a handful of fine-tuned Loadouts at your fingertips, you’ll be ready for all challenges ahead. Use this guide to discover which tools are on hand when creating a Loadout, plus a variety of suggested Loadouts to help get the advantage.
The Basics
A Loadout represents the gear and abilities your Operator deploys with in Multiplayer matches. Every Loadout in Black Ops 6 includes the following:
Primary Weapon
Your main source of damage, including Assault Rifles, SMGs, Shotguns, LMGs, Marksman Rifles, and Sniper Rifles.
Secondary Weapon
A backup weapon or support item including Pistols and Launchers.
Dedicated Melee
Choose from a variety of melee weapon types, always ready for use.
Tactical Equipment
Support items that disorient enemies or aid the Operator.
Lethal Equipment
Offensive items that damage and often explode, another main source of damage.
Field Upgrade
These powerful utility items run on a cooldown timer, ready for re-use once the recharge is complete.
Perks
Perks offer significant advantages. All Loadouts choose three initial Perks, one each from the Perk 1, Perk 2, and Perk 3 categories. Each Perk category includes Perks from all three Combat Specialties: Enforcer, Recon, and Strategist. Loadouts using the Perk Greed Wildcard can equip four total Perks.
Combat Specialty Bonus
Loadouts using three Perks of the same Combat Specialty will activate a powerful bonus effect. Red Perks unlock Enforcer, blue Perks unlock Recon, and green Perks unlock Strategist.
Wildcard
Change the typical rules of a Loadout, from allowing more attachments on your Primary Weapon to letting you equip a fourth Perk.
When you begin your journey in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Open Beta, you will first choose from a variety of preset Loadouts. Try them all out to get an idea of how different items and abilities affect your playstyle.
At Level 4, you gain access to Custom Loadouts. As you continue to rank up, you will unlock more Loadout items for even greater customization. Now the fun really begins. Here’s everything that makes up a Loadout:
// INTEL CARD
- BO6
Loadouts 101
// MULTIPLAYER: PRE-GAME // LOADOUTS
The Right Weapon: Your weapon is the most important part of your Loadout. Use a weapon to earn Weapon XP and unlock attachments for it. Try every weapon class to get a feeling for their different strengths and weaknesses.
Perk Up: Perks offer major benefits such as evading enemy UAVs, recharging your grenades after use, boosting your weapon swap speed, and more. There are three subsets of Perks; equip three from a single set — Enforcer (Red), Recon (Blue), or Strategist (Green) — to unlock a Combat Specialty giving additional passive benefits.
Scorestreaks: A well-timed UAV or Hellstorm Missile can change the course of a match. Build your score without getting eliminated to activate these powerful abilities, and swap to a Launcher class when it’s time to shoot down aerial streaks called in by the other team.
Tango Down — A Closer Look at Weapons
Except for cases where the Overkill Wildcard is equipped (described below), every Operator deploys with a Primary Weapon, Secondary Weapon, and Melee. These are your main tools for eliminating enemies.
Primary Weapons
Assault Rifles
Best for medium-range engagements. Full-auto, usually. Average mobility.
SMGs
Best for short-range engagements. Full-auto, usually. High mobility.
Shotguns
Best for extreme close-range engagements. High mobility.
LMGs
Best for medium- to long-range engagements. Full-auto, usually. Low mobility. Mounting preferred.
Marksman Rifles
Best for medium- to long-range engagements. Includes options for semi-auto, bolt/lever action, and burst fire. Average mobility. Rewards aggressive play.
Sniper Rifles

Secondary Weapons
Pistols
Best at close range. Features a variety of firing mechanisms. Second fastest mobility. Fastest weapon swap to.
Launchers
Effective against enemy technology and groups of infantry. Single load, usually. Low mobility.
Melee
Knife
Fisticuffs range. The fastest mobility.
Play Your Way with Gunsmith
Use Gunsmith to customize your weapons with a variety of attachments. Extend the weapon’s damage range, improve hip-fire accuracy, alter your ammunition type, throw on a larger magazine… your attachment choices effect the balance and specialization of each of your weapons. In Black Ops 6, most attachments will offer pros with no cons except in a few cases.
Earn Weapon XP by using a weapon in combat to level up that weapon and unlock more attachments.
Attachment Types
Optic
Choose from a variety of sights to optimize target acquisition and Accuracy. Optic Attachments, with some minor exceptions, are shared across all weapons in a Weapons Class. For example, all SMGs will share a base amount of Optics.
Muzzle
Equip a suppressor to stay off the enemy minimap when firing or a compensator that reduces recoil and affects your Accuracy stat.
Barrel
Effect the weapon’s damage range, bullet velocity, and headshot multiplier, a.k.a. Firepower and sometimes Accuracy.
Underbarrel
Improve your aiming stability and recoil which are represented by the Accuracy stat. Add a variety of underbarrel launchers.
Magazine
Improve your weapon’s ammo capacity or reload quickness.
Comb
Improve Handling speeds for a quicker shot on target.
Rear Grip
Gain Handling improvements like faster aim down sights and sprint to fire speed.
Stock
Gain flinch resistance and extra movement speed.
Laser
Improve your weapon’s hipfire spread and gain the Tactical Stance ability. Some powerful Laser Attachments come with the con that enemies can see the light from the laser.
Fire Mods
Change your ammunition type and delivery with improved rounds and firing systems which increases the Firepower stat on a given weapon.
Each attachment category features a variety of choices with different effects. Consider the playstyle you’re shooting for with each weapon and use Gunsmith to get there.

Weapon Stats
Use the Weapons Stats information when choosing a weapon for your Loadout to gauge and compare the strength of your currently selected weapon against other options. Here are some of the main stats you can preview, though there are many more to explore:
Firepower
Evaluate your weapon’s damage profile including its Fire Rate and Bullet Velocity.
Accuracy
View stats comparing Hip Fire Accuracy, Flinch Resistance, Recoil Gun Kick, and Centering Speed.
Handling
Compare stats for ADS time, Reload Quickness, Empty Reload Quickness, and Sprint to Fire time.
Mobility
View stats for Movement Speed, Crouch Movement Speed, Sprint Speed, and ADS Movement Speed.
Each of the weapon stat categories includes a bar that gives a general idea of your weapon’s performance in that category compared to another selected weapon.

Combat Specialties (3)
Combat Specialty
Equipping three Perks of the same Combat Specialty— Enforcer (Red), Recon (Blue), or Strategist (Green) — activates the corresponding Combat Specialty bonus, rewarding your Operator with extra abilities. The three Combat Specialties and their bonuses are:
Enforcer
Eliminating enemies grants a temporary buff to movement speed and health regen rate.
Recon
Enemies can be seen through walls for a short time after respawn; a HUD edge indicator flashes when an enemy is outside your view; leave no death skulls when eliminating enemies.
Strategist
Earn a score bonus for objectives and destroying enemy content; see enemy content through walls a short distance; deploy equipment and Field Upgrades faster.
While there’s a benefit to choosing three of the same Perk types to unlock a Combat Specialty, it’s not a requirement that you do so. Experiment with mixing and matching your Perk selection to create a wide range of playstyles.

Tactical Expert
Available: Unlocked at Player Level 15

Scorestreaks
All score-based actions, including eliminations, assists, objective play, and more, contribute toward your next Scorestreak. Earn the required score without dying to gain access to its ability. An earned Scorestreak won’t expire until use, even if you get eliminated after earning it.
Consider playstyle when choosing your three Scorestreaks. A run and gunner might be better served with lower cost streaks since they are likely to die more often, while more careful players may build up toward high-end streaks by choosing their fights carefully.
